Title: Mike Hays and Black Canyon
Post by: Etter on December 27, 2016, 10:49:00 AM
Mike might have a long turnaround time but its entirely worth it. Ive never seen a guy work so hard for a customer or care so much about customer satisfaction. If youre looking for a recurve or longbow, look no further.

Did you get it?

Sure did. Smooth, fast, quiet. Having a bit of tuning trouble right now but Ill work that out. Ive also resigned myself that Ill not be ready to tote it to Arizona next week but itll be the first bow I pick up when the ga bear season opens in the fall. Mike worked his butt off to get this bow to me in time for my javelina hunt but I wont have the time to tune arrows to it and re learn to aim this bow having come from deep pistol grip recurves. Im also concerned Ill have a target panic flare up right before a big trip so Ill wait it out. If someone can provide me an email address

Mike Hays does build a heck of a bow and they shoot very well. Not surprised you like it. Enjoy

Unfortunately, I did however have a very different experience where customer service was concerned. I had attempted to contact him several times regarding a BC I had and I very rarely got a response in under a month, if at all. I had the same experience a couple years ago regarding one of his LB's I had a question about.

Just my honest opinion and experience. Yours may differ

That's beautiful...

I actually held one of his bows in my hands when I was on vacation in Canyon City one time.

I thought for a long time afterwards that I would order from Mike.

Congrats!

Its very quiet and super fast.  Youd never guess its 58 pounds either. It took a bit for me to realize that it wasnt cut past center and that I needed a weaker arrow but its as fast as my widow recurve, which says a lot to me.
