I grew up shooting with my dad, even before I could draw my own kiddie compound. I knew when I had kids of my own we'd do the same and I've been impatiently waiting for my son to be old enough to start. This November we bought our first house so we finally have a yard we can shoot in. Luke's almost 2 and my dad asked if he could buy his first bow for Christmas. He got the Mini Mokelumne from 3 Rivers, which looks almost exactly like my Bear Montana. Luke and Grampy messed around with it in the kitchen when he first opened it last weekend (don't tell my wife) but today was the first time we actually got to shoot it outside. He let me help him take a few shots and then just wanted to carry the bow around. Given toddler attention spans that was totally fine with me. He also figured out he could charge at the target like a jouster and stick his arrows in. I think this is the start of an obsession!

Good stuff, I ca still reneber my kids being that small. Enjoy also nice to see another member close to me.
Little guys with bows gives us hope for archery in the future. It reminds me of my little grandson. Enjoy this time and cherish it forever.
Good to see but too bad you have to bowhunt in VT. My nephew lives in Burlington and is constantly bemoaning the poor deer numbers. He did manage to take a nice buck at his camp in the Northeast Kingdom this year, with his .308, but that's been it for many years. Had him down here a few years ago and he took his first buck with a bow, albeit a wheelie, the first day out. Only a little 5 point, but he was ecstatic.
Good stuff there! That's a good age to get him started.
great memories right there
Made me smile, awesome! :clapper:
