Gonna get my bow squared away and tuned this week and then hopefully some snow will make for good rabbit hunting. What is everyones favorite point for slaying bunnies?! I just cant wait to be out again holding my stick and string, but a little rabbit and dumplings wouldnt hurt
I haven't shot any cotton tails, but I have shot quite a few Jack rabbits and I find them hard to kill. I shoot broad heads all the time.
I like to use blunt force trauma on cottontails.
Lately I have been using these

All I've ever killed were snowshoes. Steel blunts worked fine from the recurve. The arrow would usually stay in them and they wouldn't get far. Broadheads in deep snow meant a lost arrow but it killed the bunnies!
I like Ace Hex Heads

I just built these last night!!! Heading down to my inlaws for Christmas Eve....Prime opportunity for this Backwoods Boy to get in on some bunnies down in the flatlands. Overgrown fence rows are my jam.

I like broadheads for bunnies and the 3 blade Bodkin works great and are plenty inexpensive.
ACE Hex blunts .
another ACE hex head fan here, perfect blend of blunt force and cutting power at a reasonable cost to lose and no fuss to mount. Use them on squirrels too.
I used to use steel blunts, and never had a complaint with them! 100 cost me about $25... Lately I've been using Ace Hex-Heads... A little pricier, but they really stop the hoppers in thier tracks!!! I'm a big fan now!!!!!
I make a screw in head similar to the Ace Hex's. Fly great, pack a punch, and can make them to whatever weight I want for about 10 cents a head in material.
In the past I've tried various screws that never flew quite right, and lead filled .357 casings glued to old aluminum arrows that worked just fine.
Take a blunt. Drill and tap a hole down the blunt. Use a file to remove the dimple so you can center the hole. The go down and drill a hole about 1/4 inch down. Rotate 1/4 turn and drill a hole that intersects the other hole. Thread in some weed eater line to theses holes. Can be as long as you want, but mine are about 3/4 inches on the sides. Then screw an appropriate screw down the center to secure the weed eater lines.I can send a pic if someone can post them.
These thump but do not go under brush, Nd can be refreshed easily
Those look like they would work really good docholiday
