Nice evening to be in stand, about 4:30 a little buck comes along and I watch him. He acts like he smells something is up but doesn't spook. After a bit he goes back the way he came, then when out of sight, he blows just a little.
Not knowing what is up, I stand up and about 30 seconds later see something coming behind some pinoak branches. Alright, a yote!! No, a cat!!
He comes down the trail and when he goes behind a big pinoak, I draw. When he clears, I lip squeak , he stops, I shoot.
He instantly jumps straight toward my stand, not sure how high, but he was getting bigger fast! Hits the gound and streaks away, going under a group of pinoaks out in the field. Never comes out.
I sit for a bit and decide the bloody arrow on the trail is not gonna be any good for waiting on a deer, so I get down and go look. He is right there. The power of a sharp broadhead never ceases to amaze!!

You done good....really good!
Congrats bro! That little camera does a great job.
Now that is a unique trophy. Great job. Are you going to get the hide tanned and get the skull cleaned?
Awesome Trophy, Congrats Kenny!!!
That's awesome! Congrats!
Very nice looking little cat, good shooting.
Good job buddy!
What a trophy!!Congrats to you
Fantastic, Kenny. You going to get it mounted?

Shootin'
(too early in the morning for typing)
Congrats!
Great shooting there and nice looking kitty.
Nice looking Tom there Kenny! He should be nice and prime right now. Whats his belly like, wide white margins and clear spots hopefully? Congrats, gotta love me a kitty!
Thank you all!! I am blessed to live here in some great bowhunting countryside.
A few answers... The bow is one I made, 48@28 TD 3 pc longbow -- arrows GT blems from Big Jim, 3555 s with3 blade VPA 200s on the biz end from Tim at Braveheart.
I have one mounted and one tanned hanging bedide it so not sure what we want to do yet.
He has some spots on sides and the belly is fairly spotted, but not as good as some I have pics of on my farm. This one came from 8 miles SE on bro's place.
Thanks again!!
Oh, and Charlie, the camera did its job wonderfully, but the operator wasn't too great!! Me!
So word of advice, take your time and get a lot of the best pics you can, the chance to get them doesn't come again. If somebody is waiting on you, they will be ok, if not ........
Congrats Kenny!
I was thinking to myself last night whether I'd rather have a giant buck or a kitty walk by...
I decided a bobcat is more of a trophy (though wouldn't you believe it, neither came!).
Thanks for sharing. That's a good looking cat!
Awesome Kenny congrats!!! :bigsmyl:
Tracy
Nice shooting on that little target. No bigger than a loaf of bread as we talked about them a couple of weeks ago.
Good looking cat. Congrats
Thanks guys!! Tracy, I can skin him for a tanning job but prob not for taxidermist. Got him in freezer waiting for the warden to tag him next week....
Oh, forgot, he weighed 24.9# on the scale my wonderful wife got me for my b day!
awesome
That's neat , I've never seen one while hunting .
Could make a cool arrow quiver .
Gorgeous coat on that kitty. Nice shooting!
What a great trophy, I'd love to take one. I have been told I have a few around my place, my son in law saw one, but I never have.
Congratulations!
Wow, that's a really unique trophy! Congrats!
I saw one earlier this year while deer hunting, but I could not get a shot. These cats sure are pretty. My wife ragged me a little about not getting her, because it is on our property where my son's house is located. She does not want any bobcats, coyotes, or other predators near the grandchildren. Yours sure is a good looking cat.
Nice job!!
Really nice Kenny!! Good shooting.
Nice job Kenny! Congrats.
Thanks guys, I should probably buy a lottery ticket, but figure I already used all my luck!!
Saweet!!!

Great trophy, congrats!
Great trophy there Kenny. Good job. A nice bobcat is something I've always wanted with my bow. Never had the chance yet although I've seen a few.
Congrats,..Nice cat..
Cool!
Nice cat!!!
The past couple years I have gotten a few pics of a bobcat, but never seen it.
Would be cool to see it, but they are protected here.
That is a special one, Kenny! Congrats!
Great trophy. Congratulations.
Kool Kitty, Kenny!
Awesome buddy. Congrats
what recipe do you use for bob cat ?
That's a good looking cat, pretty bow too. Heck of a trophy congratulations.
Steve Jr
I've always wanted to take one with my bow but the opportunity has never presented itself. Congrats on your success. Thanks for sharing and good shooting on a small target.
Congrats Kenny. Great shooting
Thank you all!!
I don't have a recipe for cat or coyote and not real interested in finding one. That said , cat is supposed to be good. Just not my pick of meats. Fur only for me.....
Nice one, Kenny!
Pretty cat. They are pretty good eating. Don't know about coyote. Got me excited.

Me too! idk why but the deer hunting just doesnt get my blood pumping like a lot of the guys here. A cat or dog would be much more of a win to me.
I would try the back legs and strap of a cat if i got one, If i didnt like I wouldnt force myself to eat it. the fur is enough for me.
congrats, Kenny!!!
Nice very nice ! They don't come around very often !
Congratulations!
Good shooting and it looks like really nice fur.
I'd like to shoot a Bobcat too but we don't have them here and I'd most likely have to drive 1,000 miles to be where they range.
As far as eating a cat - to most regular folks it doesn't sound too appetizing... but I've eaten Lynx often and they're actually pretty good - I wonder if bobcats would be similar?
Update- Renee wants him mounted so we are.. ;)
Never argue when the wife wants another mount in the living room! :goldtooth:
Going with a sitting position for a bit of versatility....
Shoot a nice cottontail to stuff in her mouth :bigsmyl:
Congrats Kenny! Thats an awesome trophy! I had that same scenario happen to me once also, only problem was season wasn't open yet, Murphy's Law!
Steve
NICE!
Congratulations!
Nice trophy, Congrats!
Got kitty tagged today. In MO you have to have the CO come look it over and tag it by Feb 15.
Got it out and discovered it was a female!! LOL
I hadn't looked at in daylight much, just froze it for the taxidermist.
Surprised it weighed 25# as a female, thought they were smaller.
He shoots and---------------- score :clapper:
Lord, please don't let me type anything in here.. LOL
