My sons longbow arrived today. It is a 56 inch 32#@24 longbow. The bow is absolutely flawless. The fit and finish is stunning. The riser is grey actionwood with actionwood limb core. He also added a piece of red glass to give it a little character. He used a very nice piece of black elk hide for the grip. My son is going to be extremely happy Chrismas morning. He has been wanting a Pronghorn longbow for a long time. He has even called and talk to Mr. Herb about bows before.
I also got a Chrismas Gift:) 62 inch 3pc Longnow. Hickory riser with black glass limbs. Red Elm limb core. 52#'s @ 30 inches. Mr. Herb told me that he wanted to do something special to my bow because I am a Minister. He went above and beyond on both of these bows. He enlayed a piece of white silver into my riser. He hand cut the silver from a piece that he was going to use in a knife. He used a gloss finish on both bows.

Close up of all three.
Black leather grip is really soft. Has a great feel. He used extra thick pieces on mine to give a little larger grip.

B-Dog; how much longer do you have? Should be getting close.
I talked with Mr Herb last night and he never gave me a date but said it wouldn't be much longer. I can hardly wait.
Not much longer. Maybe a couple weeks.
Nice stuff......
Sweet shooting bows, really like the Pronghorn.
He was so excited about his bow. He ran outside bare footed and started shooting. He loved it and it shot good for him.
We had a very blessed Christmas. (http://i.imgur.com/ZL5criph.jpg)
Mr. Herb Meland was worried to death that it wasn't going to make it in time. He told me that he realized how it felt to wait on a bow to arrive:)
I know Mr. Herb doesn't read the Internet forums; but I want to tell everyone how good of a person he is. He is a top notch guy that loves and promotes traditional archery. He builds some very nice shooting longbows.
Gage is ready to go bowhunting now.
God bless everyone. (http://i.imgur.com/hHIir3Ch.jpg)

Fine looking young man there (and good shooting form too!). Thanks for sharing.
What a nice bow!. You can see from Gage's picture how excited and proud he is to have this bow. I look forward to seeing him shoot it before too long. I hope your family had a wonderful Christmas.
This is an awesome thread.
Thanks for posting it.
So cool, he has great form! Hard to find better people than Herb. Hunting partner for life and it doesn't get any better than that!
