Can you guys please offer suggestions and insight into how you guys best use your BPE Pro fletcher?
I have tried 4 fletch 4" feathers using Bohning tape instead of glue. It seams that i just can't get them right. Usually they are turned up and the quill is not down even against the shaft.
Thoughts?
Perhaps leaving more feather sticking out of the clamp would let it form to the shaft better as you press the clamp into position.
Looking for insight as to how guys best set these up and not just for the one issue.
I have read people say they directions are not that clear and that has been my experience as well.
I have the Bohning jig but i think this should help.
Make sure to test fit without any adhesive or anything and adjust the position ect.
Once you have the tape applied to the feather and in the clamp just take the tip out a slight bit.
align the magnet flat with the clamp but don't just push the whole thing down. Start from the back and then lower the front. ( can explain more if needed)
Once that is done take your finger nail and run it down the quill.
There are lines on the top and bottom of the magnetic piece that determines settings. If someone that has a BPE Pro can look at theirs and see which marks they are using that would be a good place to start.
You have to use the leveling feature.
Unloossen it....then put clamp on with feather in it...put back on magnet and slide it down on arrow shaft...then tighten back up.
After my feather has been positioned in the clamp, I run my fingernail down the clamp in between it and the feather quill to separate them a tad. All three of my clamps will often leave a slight gap between my shaft and feather, in the middle, if I don't.
