Whether a new introductory for 2017, or a new bow for the individual or a used bow which is new to the individual inherently possesses gratifying anticipation.
Received mine early, this afternoon to be more precise...A Centaur Carbon Elite w/DM...she is setup and ready to take to the field tomorrow afternoon.
Hope many find their new joys in 2017.
Good luck with her, Scott!
I have a hankering for a new bow. It will be the exact same as my old bow, a Sarrels Blueridge, just have a "new" look.
Bisch
Happy hunting!!
I'm really hoping to add a longbow to my arsenal soon! I don't know that my wife feels the same way though.

Well, I just got a new custom bow. I got a Vintage Works 1962 Kodiak reproduction. Actually I did not expect it till 2017 but it came early. Sorry no pics, Photobucket has locked up on me whenever I try it lately.
Have a 2 piece Toelke Chinook in the works,I have never seen or shot one and I am super excited!
I just picked up my my Big Jim Thunderchild 2weeks ago and plan to hunt with her for the first time tomorrow morning.
I couldn't pass up a deal today on a used Bear Grizzly that Big Jim had on sale. Will probably make it here before 2017, but I won't get to do much with it.
I am in the market. Had my current bow fail on me recently.
Leaning towards a toelke super static, a sarrels blue ridge, or sarrels puma. That's assuming a big Jim thunderchild doesn't pop up in the classifieds...
Let you know after year end taxes!
Sitka Blacktail due in 4 to 6 months
Waiting on a Dwyer Dauntless around April.
Waiting on some limbs from Brian with TallTines:)
Waiting on a two piece Northern Mist Superior, should be ready around April.
Got the call last week that my Javaman Assyrian is in the works. Very excited. With any luck it may still make it in time for a late season hunt. THAT would start 2017 off on the right foot!
Got a JD Berry Heritage should be ready around March and am on the list with Steve Turray, but I can't decide which model to go with...Shelton or Ramer. It's a heck of a decision.
Bill-
I'll be getting a brand new Centaur Triple Carbon Elite in late January. Looking forward to it.
Fun stuff!
I bought only one in 2016. Nothing in the hopper for 2017.
Rehabbing my new knee so I have time to think about what I have on front burner for 2017. Just got a new 64" River Runner from Chad Holm, I also traded for a Treadway Blackswamp 60". Been playing with pair of Bear T/D riser A and B, they may see time in the field as well. Also picked up a Bamabows Hunter that seems to shoot well.
I have a New Huron Long Bow coming from Terry Folts, probably before Christmas. 2016 bow but very close to 2017.
Vince said he will be starting on my new Mohawk Sparrow Hawk soon. I think my New Year's resolution is going to be to try to wear it our :)
Bigfoot Sasquatch Lb takedown. Kirk is busy with the build. Super excited! Would be nice if it is here by Christmas!!
Bigfoot Sasquatch ILF Recurve ! And Yes , Super Excited as well !
Zipper ZSR Longbow sometime between Apr-May '17. Considering ordering either a shorter longbow either a Stalker Dingo/Lynx or a Zipstick if Bill gets the form back up & running

Bamboo core myrtle limb with antler tips
Myrtle and Bolivian rosewood riser checking grip
A brand new-to-me 1957 Ben Pearson 950 takedown bow just arrived last week.
Looking forward to stringing her up and flinging some sticks soon.
I don't have a take down longbow and I was thinking about getting one but I've been holding back.
I'm semi-retired and I don't have a check coming in regularly quite yet - but it seems every few months or so I'm shocked by the passing
of a friend.
At this stage in the game, what the heck, I think that I'll give Abe a call...
A new Dale Dye Medicine Point on the way any day now, also a Schafer longbow in a few months.,
Got a Jack Kempf Little Grizzly last year, waiting on a Kwykstik now.
Looking quite forward to receiving the TimberGhost new limb design. The turkeys will not.
Picked up a assenhiemer #55,takedown from a good guy on here, thx again Craig! Absolutely love this bow, been away from Trad a while,, what a foolish move... haaaaaa I'm back!
Have a couple sets of Schafer longbow limbs due around Feb.I also have the wants for a mild reflex/deflex longbow,I keep fighting it but I always give in. :D
Just purchased a 1975 Bear r/w/b C riser bow. Been looking awhile. Will be a good indoor and 3D bow. Wife said "Merry Christmas"!
I've got a Black Widow PCH that should be finished and headed my way any day now. Can't wait!!
Friend, lets see that centaur!
I have a special new TallTines that should be shipping any day now. looking forward to it and will post pics!
I got on Jim's list for a Centaur as well....but it won't be ready until Feb. 2018.
I've got a maddog prairie predator on order that should be done in a couple months. I'm looking forward to getting my first longbow.
Congrats on your new bows everyone.
I Just ordered a Toelke Pika 56" 60#@29" it should be here in Feb. 2017 Just is time to shoot all summer to prepare for the 2017 hunting season.
Another River Runner by Chad Holm due in early January. Specs are 62" 56#@28".
Still looking but might be getting either a titan2 riser or northern mist baraga depending on the shape of the moon:)
Well I just got a new Flatline Cardiac Arrest , three piece longbow so I will have two bows to take for Bear Quest 2017 .
I must admit christmas is coming early next year. I put my name on Big Jim's list a few weeks ago. Still dont know if I should go with a 2 piece thunderchild or buffalo.
I bought a mint condition 46# 1967-1/2 super kodiak about 2 months ago. After some testing and tuning it shoots an arrow faster my bob lee- my predator and both my Great Plains recurves. Kinda funny because it's so old. But this will be my target bow for the year. Can't wait for Compton in June.

Lonnie is only a few blocks from me. Let me know when it is ready and I will pick it up and shoot it for a month or so....just to make sure it works right.
I've had a bout of self control this past year. Not sure if that silliness will last the entire new year. Usually when it ends, it ends with a bang ! Enjoy your new bows.
I ordered a new Stalker Stickbow Wolverine to match the one I have.
Exoecting a Jack Kempf Kwikstik anytime soon
Got a Wes Wallace Stealth in the works, should be done in February!
New to me Dryad Bushwacker, received today.
UGH...counting down the days until I can order my new Toelke Whip.... :banghead:
Whips are great bows you'll love it if you haven't had one B4. I myself...Java Man Assyrian.
Yep..a curve. haven't owned a recurve in almost 10 years. Its time.
62" 53@28 2-piece. All Phenolic riser. Burl veneers,all horned up tips&overlays.
rat'
Ryan, I can't believe you bought a 'curve!!
Can I shoot it this winter at league?
chris <><
Yes and yes Chris. I can't wait buddy!! coming to get ya' this year!! :saywhat:
rat'
Riverat,
When did you place the order for the Assyrian? I have one ordered too.
I just looked at my order form and have it marked 60". Are you sure it's available in 62". I would have ordered mine that way if it was?
Tedd
ASSYRIAN" - Static Recurve. A delflex-reflex recurve with the lines of the old Assyrian bows. Static recurves make for a very smooth drawing bow in a shorter length. Available in 58" and 60" lengths, and weights to 70#.
Haven't pulled the trigger on ordering one yet but I really like the looks of that Howard Hill Black Mamba! Maybe if I think about it long enough, they will be sold out and I'll be off the hook.
Rat...I look forward to it!
chris <><
Concluded the deer season this evening.
Now looking quite forward to obtaining some new generation TimberGhost G3 static tip limbs.
Will be powerful turkey medicine.
Along with my Sunset Hill on the way I also have a Dave Johnson Red Cedar coming. Life is good. RC
Picked up a Chek-mate hunter II from BigJim, just bought an early 70's Browning nomad stalker, and sent in a "paid in full" payment to one of the greatest Bowyers ever!
The anticipation of a new friend is always worth looking forward to. Hopefully it will be the one that will ride with you for a long time. Congrats to all getting another bow.
I need someone to start a support group.... :(
I've got another Javaman Elkheart coming sometime around May or June ....and dadgummit if i didn't just put my name on the list again.... :dunno:
Silvertip in 3 weeks and Elkheart in the summer
Dang it I did it again. Promised myself I wouldnt buy and bows fun till at least Compton but I couldn't pass up a MINT condition greenstripe. It's so pretty I haven't been able to be myself to stringing it lol.
I always liked being a 1 bow guy, until a limb failure during some mid-season practice really screwed up my hunting this year.
Picked up a samick journey to keep in shooting form and to act as my back-up bow. Put a BCY-X string on it and I've been impressed so far.
More importantly, I just put in my order for a Border Cover Hunter. 14-15 weeks can't go by quick enough.
RC, how long were you on Nate's waiting list for the Sunset Hill? A while I imagine.
Waiting on a new to me kwyk styk jack is refinishing for me as we speak. Can't wait to get it backed and tuned up!
Nick
Have Joel building me a 60# safari from jet longbows, will be using it on his hunt in West Virginia next November. Will have grey glass front and back should be a real looker and fast shooting bow with the 2" of backset it has!
Am highly anticipating the delivery of TimberGhost newly designed static tip G3 limbs to be here in a couple of weeks.
jabodnar. I'd say you have run the gamut of the traditional bow range. From a Samick to a Border Covert Hunter. Can't imagine a wider gap on the bow spectrum. I've shot a CH and you are going to love it.
Picked up one on my bucket list, a 64-inch, 50# JD Berry reverse handle Taipan. Love it. Still looking for the right Robertson, GN, Leon Stewart and Fred Anderson.
Don't have anything in mind but I'll wander around Cloverdale and you never know!
I just received a new set of limbs for my Black Widow PCH today. They are 53# @ 28" Myrtle Burl. Looking forward to shooting them and getting her set up. Limbs look awesome!
I picked up a 58"-54#@28" pronghorn Ferret a few weeks ago and I should be getting the 3 PC pronghorn longbow that I ordered from Herb in a week or so. Who knows what else I will end up with this year :help: :biglaugh:
Steve Jr
Im really enjoying my new Toelke Whip. 60" 40lbs @ 28". Heck of a nice shooting bow.
Giving some serious thought to a one-piece,62" Greenleaf Widow.
Well there have been recent post about short bows on here and I have always wanted a short one for certain situations. I looked at Bear offerings and there are a number of vintage ones to be had along with several production models but one caught my eye while reading one of those recent posts. The Crooked Stic Short Curve. In fact one was passed around recently but it was RH and I am LH so could not join the list to shoot it. Well I decided to get one anyway and I sent my deposit. Looking forward to my choice for 2017!
I bought a Hoyt Buffalo early in January. I was a big-time naysayer when the topic turned to such modern recurves, but I was really wrong. It is a shooter and I'm glad I went for it. I may go for another bow this year; maybe another 62" PMA or a 62" Hoyt Satori. Time will tell.

I got a Bodnik Kiowa, 52". It's a great short bow for folks that don't have a short draw length. No stacking, I draw to 28.5". Still some finger pinch. Not fast but surprisingly accurate for a short bow. My wife has a KMag, great for her with her 25" DL but not so great at mine.

I shot that bow and its a winner for sure. Loved the limbs.
Have a Black Canyon recurve due very soon and a Dale Dye which should be ready in July. Both lefties.
I have purchased several already and will thin the pack shortly.
Whippenstick Phoenix td 62", Whippenstick Phoenix one piece 60", Robertson Fatal Styk td 60", Brackenbury Legend td 66", and soon a Black Widow MA ll in Graybark. So far I have bonded with the Brackenbury and the Robertson. The Whippensticks may be too much bow for my sloppy form as they are very fast but not very forgiving. The Robertson shoots where I look and doesn't want to torque as easily as the rounded grip Phoenixes. My fault, I know.
I know what you mean about those rounded grips Brad. I am hoping to find a used Pika with locator grip. I want to try out a little shorter bow this year.
I just got home from work and had a package waiting for me. Been eagerly anticipating this new recurve, based on the recommendation of a my friend Dave Sisamis as well as the fact that I absolutely love my stickflingers. The Zircote riser block came from Big Jim and I got the myrtle block for the flare and the myrtle veneers from IdahoCurt. I think it came out pretty awesome, with antler limb bolts and tips. 62" long, 55#@29". Guess I will get some arrows tuned to it tomorrow.

My other stickflinger has limbs that are 56# and 63# at 29", so I figured it knew what arrows would fly well. Put some tape on the string for a nocking point, and here is my first 2 shots at around 18 yards. One with a 175 grain tigershark, and the other with a 230 grain javelina lite.

New Silvertip on its way to me. Finally pulled the trigger after much cheapskatedness.
Scott's TGhost G3 limbs are coming along. Carbon back and belly with foam cores. Just about ready for finish.

Kent...Thank you for posting the most intriguing TimberGhost pics.
At your 29" draw, the pronounced static tips on a 56" bow are presented with much clarity.
Yes...I am chomping at the bit.
Gobs beware!
That bow is beautiful , Brian is as much an artist as a incredible bowyer . I own 2 of them a 52# with macassar ebony riser with checen flare &
chechen flame limbs . also 45# Bocte riser with myrtle flare and myrtle burl limbs! someday when i can figure out how to post pics i will get them up
Good luck and straight shooting with that beauty

Wow that timberghost is a mean looking stick.
Any idea what those carbon limbs will chrono at?
I had a weak moment yesterday and bought a used Stalker Stickbow Coyote FXT Recurve and then ordered a second set of limbs from South within a 10min time span.. I might need some intervention..
Longtime...
Preliminary chroni results from Kent:
190 fps...10 gpp... at 28"s...finger release
That timberghost does look sweet, but his sight window is too short for my style of shooting.
Java man Assyrian 60" 60#@30" on order
Kanati longbow 60" 60#@30" on order
And because I have no patience to wait for those a Bear 59 Kodiak 55#@28" satin finish is in transit from Three Rivers
