This morn. about 9,three does and a button buck fed by at 10 yds. from behind me.One doe kept starring behind them.I slowly turned and a 150+ 10 pt.was slowly following them.He stopped as I was drawing and looked behind him,he needed 2 steps for a clear shot,I looked behind him and 35yds. away was a huge massive 8 with 4-5 stickers160" anyway.I let the 10 walk by at 10yds. and just as the giant 8 hit my hole[10yds.] the button spooked by the first buck ran at my chip shot and and he took 4-5 bounds and ended up walking around me at 35yds.Had to watch them walk away.First come first served from now on!!!!!
thats huntin for sure!!!
You did the right thing, sometimes it just doesn't go a guy's way. How many 160+ bucks does a guy get a crack at in a lifetime?
To get the big ones you have to pass the small ones, just so happened in your case "small" one was a 150 class buck...
Sounds like it was an exciting morning though!!! :goldtooth:

Bummer Dude.
Your first good shot is the one to take. I know the temptation is great to wait for that bigger guy but he will never come in. That first good shot was there for the taking. Pat
I agree with Pat B, but the choice is totally up to you if you'd rather wait for another 10" of antler. To each their own.jmho
if it makes you feel better, you will NEVER forget that morning. I guarantee it. ;)
That is why we love to HUNT
