I am heading either east or south and east to do some late season doe hunting here in Iowa.  I also plan on wasting some sacrificial cedar at a flying pheasant or two.

My brother in law just shot a Brown Bear on Kodiak Island, Alaska, and he said there were tons of blacktail deer.     :archer2:

Going to go out sometime in the next couple of days to see if I can find a late bull elk. Won't be much of a trip though, somewhere between 5 and 15 miles.

You have plenty of late season venison all around you. New England can be great in the snow. I usually take a deer or two in December. You can hunt the New Hampshire expanded for bucks and does if I am not mistaken.

We usually wrap up Monday before Thanksgiving each year deer hunting. Blackbeard first weekend in December was a favorite of ours and we will be doing that hunt again. We aren't going this year but I recommend it highly. Start your search by googeling the Savannah River NWR Complex

go to Garrett Cty Maryland,,  maybe 12hr drive from you..  bring a climber get a non res long weekend license, find a motel and scout/hunt some public spots there where tons of meat deer when I was there,, hurry up before the snows show.

or head more down into the south lands but I'd rather shoot hogs they taste better and its not cold.

bring a huge cooler for your quartered up meat  and don't forget the hunter safety card for license

I live on the border between Garrett/Allegany county in Maryland. Grew up in Garrett county, lots of state land to hunt on. Savage River state forest is the largest chunk of land around these parts. Let me know if you are really interested in coming to this part of Maryland and I can give you some more info

Our season in Garrett/Allegany counties runs until January 31, this is region A which is different from other parts of the state. We are allowed 1 buck & 1 doe during the bow season. Our rifle season is in right now and runs until next Saturday, then the following Saturday muzzleloader season comes in for 2 weeks then archery season goes until the end of January. By January the deer are pretty spooky in this area, but in January you will have the woods pretty much to yourself even on state ground.

I'm not sure about the eastern end of the state, I know the further east you go from my region the more deer you can kill.
