Well I'm about ready to try something other than my old Ace 101 for a spine tester. The Adams is nice, but out of my price range, so I'm thinking the Ace 203 (? the simple model, hang on the wall rig) or possibly a home made tester using the calipers.
I searched the how to's and build alongs, but didn't come up with anything. What's you experience or suggestions for an "affordable" tester?
Here ya go....

That one is quite a rig, too much for me to tackle!! :D
Thanks Kenny, impressive, but beyond my skills too!
I'm working on a spine tester that uses a dial indicator to measure the arrow's deflection...I'll post pics when I finish.
I made one a few years back following Jim Hill's spine tester plans. The biggest expense was the dial caliper that I bought used on the auction site for $20 bucks or so. I would post a link but it is on another site and I don't believe it is allowed to post links to other sites here. Just google search for Jim Hill Spine tester. Any problems finding it, just PM me and I will get you a link.
after looking at Jim Hill's design...I'm changing my set-up to match his...
I used the James Hill spine tester design also.
