-
This year and last year a Shakespeare Necedah 58" at 46# that I draw to 29-1/2" (so I'm getting 48 or 49#). I use 30-3/4" BOP Douglas Fir shafts, 11/32" tapered the last 12" to 5/16" spined 60-65#, three 5" turkey feathers and a Mercury or Bohning Classic nock worked to be just snug.
I'm using a three blade Mowoc Dot 125 gr head but also use 130 gr STOS or 125 gr Magnus II heads.
But I also like a 52# 62" Browning Explorer, a 58" 47# Red Wing Hunter, a 60" 55# Martin Dream Catcher, and many others. Only variable is some of those bows prefer a 65-70# spine.

Gen I DAS riser with Morrison max 2 short limbs. 54# @ 28". Arrows are 29" Axis 340's with 275 grain Razorcaps. String is 8190F 10 strand. If I shoot an 8125 12 strand string 400 Axis with 200 grain heads work best. If you are having trouble with broadheads my guess is that it is a spine issue. What is your set up?

I have a few different broadheads...woodsmans, magnus stingers (2 and 4 blade) and Zwickey.
They all fly just fine. The Zwickey is my favorite but it's because they're one piece (simple) and have a blade shape that I find easy to sharpen...and they're, comparatively, inexpensive.
Actually since I stuck one Zwickey in the mud and haven't resharpened it yet and another through a deer (also not resharpened) I'm using a real mixed bag.
I only carry 3 arrows when I hunt my property. I have a Zwicky on one arrow, a stinger on another and a woodsman on another.
If I do my job, any one of them will hit the mark and do it's job...at the distances I'll be shooting them.

66" #51@28 Northern Mist Whisper. 29" Easton Lagacy 2016 with 135gn. Magnus heads. 3 5 1/2" white shield cut feathers.

If your broadheads are flying erratically there's 2 things it could be. 1- if the broadheads are not mounted straight or 2 - your arrows are not tuned with your bow. I can't help you with the carbons being the right shaft as I only shoot wood. I simply glue my broadheads on while making sure they spin perfect and go shoot them. Works for me. Typically the broadhead arrows group tighter than my field points

I have three bows that I use. Two are Northern Mist Shelton's both at 68" length and pulling 53# at 28" (however, I only pull 25"). One has a bamboo core and one has a yew core. With both bows I shoot 29" cedar arrows spined at 50 - 55#. I prefer 125 grain heads. The third bow is a 55# HHA Cheetah with a bamboo core that is also 68" long. I use 55 - 60# cedar arrows. All my arrows have 5" shield cut fletching, simply because I like the look. Because of my short draw length and preference for long arrows, my bows happen to shoot well with spine weights that equal the stated 28" draw weight.

That calculator is a "ball park" starting point for tuning. Try bareshafting a full length shaft with a 175gr field point and a 50gr insert and see what happens. Carbons stiffen up considerably as they are shortened (and there does not seem to be a consistent formula to calculate that effect).
I would offer my set up, but it is a touch heavier than what you are tuning and of no use to you.

17" Morrison ilf with medium Border hex6.5 limbs, 54@29. 31.5" 340 Axis, 50gr insert, any 200gr head works perfect although I prefer Tusker, Grizzly and Cutthroats.

64" Assenheimer 63# at my draw. shooting an Easton gamegetter 500 (2016) 28.5 inch arrow with 125 grain head. Also shoot a 68" omp long bow 52 pounds at my draw. shooting an Easton 1916 28" arrow with 200 grains up front. both arrows are flecthed with 3 5" right wing feathers. both have been shot through paper. for some reason I tend to be close to being under what the spline charts say is right.
-
for got to add that I am shooting monatec g5's on the Assenhimer. and 125 grain woods man with a 75 grain glue in adapter to get a 200 grain head for the long bow
