Is there any difference if weight is either in the insert or at the point? Thanks. Bill
You will have just a tad higher FOC if the weight is in the point, and you may need just a tad stiffer arrow if the weight is in a long insert, but I doubt there are many (if any) folks who could tell the difference between the two.

I agree. The difference is so minor you won't notice it.
It's been my experience that with two identical arrows, one with heavy insert/lighter point, seems to bare shaft tune slightly stiffer than arrow with lighter insert/ heavy tip. It could just be that the arrow with the heavy tip also makes the overall arrow longer, making it a little weaker..?
more of a difference in FOC than accuracy.
If you are able to discern a significant difference, then likely the original arrow was marginally tuned.
To me is always seems to be the longer inserts act as internal footers. So I end up with heavier spines.
I agree, you'll never notice the difference between the two.
I have never noticed any difference. I shoot GT 5575's with 50 grain inserts and 125 grain points along with 11 grain factory inserts with 165 grain points. I like the 165 grain Simmons for deer and turkeys and the 125 Hellrazors for hogs.
