Ive been shooting with a American Leathers Big Shot glove for several years. I really like it, but I've been wanting to try a good tab. I've heard guys say they get a smoother release from a tab and it might be handy when the weather turns really cold.
Thanks
I switched from a Big Shot glove to an Eichler tab from 3Rivers and love it.
Second the Eichler tab.
I like the looks of the Eichler tab, might have to give it a try. Not a bad price either.
I love the one that Rod offers at Safari Tuff. He's a sponsor here also.
Bateman cordovan.
Thanks guys, I'll give em a look.
Black Widow cordovan , Bateman, EFA cordovan, all work well for me.
I use a Black Widow tab - never owned one of their bows but I do like their tabs.

Neet tab calf hair with felt finger spacer.
Cordovan... Best there is!
I like the Bateman cordovan, also.
I like bateman and the rod jenkins tabs best

That's the one I use when I don't use my glove. Don't hunt with it until you practice though. I've had a hard time getting used to it.

What he said. Go to there website. Lots to choose from.
Eichler tab!!!
I have my first Bateman's purchased a few years back, thousands of arrows shot with them and, they actually look smoother now than when new !
Take look at this one:
TAB (http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=31;t=001370;p=1#000001)
I like the Bateman too
I shoot a Cavalier Elite after going through a drawer full. Bill
I switched from a glove to a Bateman cordovan tab and never intend to go back. What you MUST do however,is to trim the tab to fit your hand size. You can order the width that best seems to fit your hand, but at least for my deep hook, I have to trim the length quite a bit or it hits my lip on release. Do it just like tuning an arow - cut a little at a time until you hit that magic length that works for you.
Black Widow tab for me.
Bateman tabs are good too.
My favorite tabs are Cavalier Elite Cordovan...my go to hunting tabs are from Black Widow, cordovan if you can find one or Super Leather if you cannot

I appreciate all the help guys. Looks like I have several to take a look at and choose from. I've never shot with a tab, just seems like the gloves develop a speed bump pretty quick. Maybe the cordovan tab won't be as bad...
Black Mamba
I'm partial to the Saunders Pak-Tab, but they changed it up a couple years ago, and the new ones definitely are not as good as the old ones.
Bisch
Bateman Three Under Cordavan for me as well... Modify mine a bit... I take the elastic out and use some cordage for the finger loop... I can make it just the size I want...
My experience is that the cordovan lasts much longer than most gloves... I have some tabs that are 5+ years old... I usually lose one before I wear it out ;-)

I've tried the Bateman 3 under, black widow, and Rod Jenkins tabs. I prefer the Bateman tab, but all of them are too thin for a 50+ lb bow. I have a scrap piece of leather and I glue a third layer in between the 2 layers using barge cement.
Partial to the Rod Jenkins Cordovan tabs.
Two tabs with thinner thickness for target and 3D.
Two tabs that are thicker to accommodate heavier hunting draw weights.
The transition has been personally seamless.
Bateman cordovan.
I get my Rod Jenkins tabs from BigJim and love them
What I've gathered by reading is that tabs are usually thin. Anybody ever have finger problems with heavier bows?
I'm new to tabs after years of shooting a glove, but I really am liking my Bateman Cordovan.
Hey,
I've recently switched to tab after over decades of gloves.
I purchased the Fred Eichler and bison leather split finger from 3 rivers.
I found the bison one the best fit for me as I find the string pinches my ring finger a bit with the Eichler tab. Reading a few comments above though, there might be some merit in getting a larger size and trimming to suit.
I think you'll like the switch, I have.
Memo.
Bateman, the last tab you'll ever buy unless you lose it so buy 2, good to have a spare in the pac anyway
I tried many when I switched from a glove to a tab and believe it or not the smooth leather tab that 3 rivers sells for about $9 is the one I like most.
I shot the Eichler tab for a while, and I liked it.
However, I bought a Widow tab to try for a while, and I haven't switched back. I love my Widow tabs!
I also like the Saunders plastic tabs, esp the single layer mono tab. See 3RA.
I also like the Rod Jenkins tabs BigJim sells.
Rod Jenkins or Rick ****** (Death Adder) tabs
unfortunately Rick may not be making them any longer. I lucked out and bought two backups when I realized how much I liked them.
The Bateman Cordovan with finger spacer is my tab of choice. Awesome product. :campfire:
Rod's tabs and Black Widow. I think Eichler's are made by Bateman. Good stuff too.
I use a tab made by Tarantula.
Bateman Cordovan is the best I have used.
