I''m patiently awaiting one of Bills' ZSR Longbows, initially I Set on a SXT but Bill said I'd be better served with the ZSR given my DL (see specs below). The idea is at a later date to order a set of either Z4 or Evo recurve limbs to compliment it with.
I was wondering if any members who own or have owned one could chime in on what I can expect, outside of Bills craftsmanship?
Specs as follows
62"
#50-#55 @ 30" (ya I draw long) (tbd at time of tiller/build)
Cocobolo/Zebrawood Riser
Zebrawood veneered belly
Carbon back
Any thoughts on using Black Eagle Vintages and their spines at that DW?
Cheers
I own 3 Zippers, all 3 SXT, 1 with carbon backed Evo limbs, 2 with Z4..all shoot incredible.
Z4 are very, very, fast, and forgiving. That being said, I really don't think the Evo limbs are giving up that much, they are sweet .
Bills a great guy with a great product
A few years back I had ordered a Zipper SXT and during my wait time Bill came out with the ZSR.I called right up and switched mine to the new ZSR with longbow carbon&foam limbs. It came out great, kingwood and curly maple riser with curly maple veneers.Shoots great, quiet and fast!I picked up some carbon&foam Evo Accel recurve limbs here in the classifieds.Fantastic shooting limbs with a curly maple veneer on the belly, goes well with my riser.I feel the ZSR riser is more forgiving with your longer draw.I only draw 27" and prefer the ZSR over the SXT,the SXT is a great design too but for me it's the ZSR as my favorite! With your longer draw I think the ZSR is a great choice!
Thanks for insights gents
JRY309 - do you have a pic of that wood combination handy?
Sorry,I am without a camera right now.
