when these big mulies start to rut I REALLY wish there was an archery season for them during the rut in my neck of the woods!

Beautiful animals! It's rifle season in November /Colorado right? Tags are draw?
That would be really frustrating! Even a decent mule deer seems to look huge compared to a big whitetail. Thats like seeing big bull elk when I'm hunting whitetails here.
Wow
Just beautiful critters.......great photos.
Is it legal to use the bow during rifle season?
Nice pics!

WOW! Great pictures, would love to hunt Colorado one day.
Great pictures
Here in Iowa we have some nice whitetails for sure, but I really have a desire to hunt those mulies. Hunted mule deer in 2012 in N. Dakota I loved it. Been wanting to get out west some time and chase them mulie bucks around. Its on my short list for sure.
Those big buck show up around our house this time of year, I really wonder where they are the rest of the year.
Excellent photos, I have seen some nice bucks while elk hunting Co. Always amazed at how they conceal themselves until November..best of luck.
Thanks guys! You can hunt with a bow during rifle season, but the tags are draw tags. I always put in for Whitetails in the eastern part of the state, mostly because If I draw I get almost 3 months to hunt them. If I put in for the rifle tag I only get a week and have to contend with the orange army and I left that kind of chaos behind years ago!
A couple more from this week

Beautiful!!!!!
Around here, our hunting months are often before that nice, light gray/white markings winter coat sets in (depending on where you hunt). Locally, our mulies are down in the foothills during the late fall-spring and I love seeing those thick gray/white colors on their fattened bodies while hiking around in the lower elevations. It's a chestnut brown in the summer and a dull, dark gray in the late summer/early fall. In the higher elevations, I've seen that winter coloring as early as late September (start of rifle season) but that's only up in the high country and remote places. Seeing those coat changes is like watching the leaves turn -- a fun marker of the changing seasons.
Great pic's!
Great work on the pics!
Chasing mulies is definitely on the short list for me as well.

As always, Great pics Jason. Yes drives me up a wall too. I can't see why we can't have a deer archery season like other states. Months long and OTC. There are plenty of deer here. And we have such a short season.
Tremendous pictures, Thanks for sharing!!!!
Beautiful pics, I've only hunted those guys once (unsuccessfully) on a last minute leftover rifle tag. Dirt bikers zipping all over- illegally- ruined that quickly.
Agree with Matty, the tags should be OTC, deer all over in the elk spots I hunted when I lived out there. I'd go back as often as possible, not into the draw game.
