I have gotten into shooting heavier bows. I am 52 years old and am moving up in weight when most are moving down. I have acquired one of the finest Recurves I layed hands on, a Jack Howard Gamemaster Jet. But in 72# Whaaaaaat! Most archers told me they have never seen one of Jack's Jets this high in poundage. Does anyone have any pictures or information topping my KING Jet?
My dad had two matching 67 pounders way back in 1968.
Probably not that uncommon. In the 1920 - 1980 there were lots of bows in heavy weights. I shot heavy weight bows for years up until 2004. Ask on the Collector Forum.

I have no knowledge about your bow but I still occasionally shoot my 75lb Martin recurve that I bought in '81. And I am 58.
I already know they had bows in heavier weights. I have a Damon Howatt in 85# @ 28 62'Hunter. My question is did anyone ever seen one of Jack Howards Gamemaster Jets heavier than 72#? And if so, do you have pictures?
Thats awesome at 58, I intend to stay in shape to do the same at 58.
Giovanni I came close to getting one few years ago and still keep an eye out, but to answer your question most I seen advertised were 60---62# tops
From what I understand....Jack didn't make many heavy bows....documented here if you do a search...72#s would be rare....great find for you.
I would love to see pics.

I like looking at Jack Howard bows regardless of what weight they are.
I see most of Jack's bows are usually on the longer side 64" - 66". Did he build any of his Gamemasters or Jets in 60" or 62"
Most of mine run around 62-68#. Jack made me one at 62#. I would have love to have it made 10# lighter, but Jacks last years you got what he had. Bummer because I am getting old and not any stronger. Seen one not too long ago for sale, it was 85! Now that would spit an arrow.
Does anyone know how to post pictures? I would be glad to show off my KING Jet.
Please go to the computers forum and find out how to post pictures.
and if you want to sell....let me know
... I got ripped off on a heavy one about 8 years ago.... by a man who had three aliases doorway buck remind anyone?????

Can anyone top a Jack Howard in a greater weight than 72#? Until then, your looking at the King Jet. Lol
