Title: Cari-bow Tuktu
Post by: jeffg on October 12, 2016, 07:49:00 PM
Just picked up a Tuktu from a fellow TG member. I am quit impressed. Actualy this is the second one I owned that I got from Nineworlds. We are talking 9.8 Grains Per pound 46#@27" 180fps. Static tip. Who else has a Tuktu out there and what are you thoughts?

I've got one and love it.  It's 53@28 and I draw a little over 30" so I'm pulling about 60lbs.  It really spits out my 600+ grain Doug fir arrows... And it's a looker!

That's a nice one, Tim. I really like the brown grip. Mine is 55#@ my 29" draw. Fast bow with any GPP I've tried. Almost had to go down in weight for the season due to being weak after surgery, about broke my heart but I worked back up to her a month before season. Whew, love this bow. It's sporting an HCB string from Daniel now, shoots nice and quiet.

i was lucky enough to shoot the pass-around one that made the rounds a couple of years ago. it was a great bow. fine workmanship and a heck of a shooter. it was very similar to my RER Retro, so i couldn't see my way to getting one, in spite of how much i liked it.

all of Abe's bows seem to be top-notch.

I have one that is about 60 pounds at my 30 inch draw...with a BCY-X string it will shoot 908 grain arrows at over 150 fps...which of course means it is for sale...one can only have so many great bows...and btw that is the second version of the Tuktu called the EX...the early ones had working recurve limbs

Don't mean to derail this thread but I was wondering if the Tuktu is faster than Abes longbow designs like the Peregrine? Thinking about putting an order in shortly but can't decide!

I personally haven't shot Abe's longbow models, but you wouldn't be at all disappointed in the Tuktu EX, speed-wise.

The Tuktu is as sweet if not sweeter to shoot than any longbow that I have shot.

I had one and sold it. It was too heaving in draw weight for me. I will get another when I get a chance. One of the few bows I have owned that made me say "wow". Very quick arrows. If you like em fast, you'll like a tuktu ex. Without question, the quietest recurve i have shot. Longbow quiet.

Matabele,
I owned a peregrine 62" and now à Tuktu EX 62".
speewise the recurve is only a tad faster (3fps) but much smoother at my drawlenght. Both are very good. My personal preference is for the recurve though.

Thanks for the replies on the speed, appreciate it.  Very nice Springbok Hybrid, and excellent shot placement too!
