Hey all,
Well, I have just taken ownership of a new-to-me JD Berry Northstar...one of the bows on my short list. It is quite beautiful. No pics yet, but was wondering, for those who shoot this bow, what brace height usually works for you? This one is 66" 57@28 and I am pulling to 27". Thanks in advance!

I have the Morningstar which is the backset version of the Northstar and I like it at about 6 1/2 inches or just a tad shorter. They are great shooters,James is a master at his craft Enjoy it.

I spoke with James this morning. I suggested that you start at 6". He says the Northstars & Morningstars perform the best between 6 and 6 1/4. Both of mine are set @ 6". James crafts some of the best performing ASL around here.

Thank you for the replies. I'm getting a new string made for it and wanted to make sure I didn't get one too short.

I have both a Northstar ( backset ) and a Misty Dawn ( string follow). My Misty Dawn is 55 @ 29, draw to 29 1/2 and likes between 5 7/8th to 6 inch brace. The Northstar is 55 @ 29 and likes 6 to 6 1/8th. I shoot the strings that the bows came with, they are some type of FF not B-50 or 55. My bows are 68 inches.
My arrows range between 570 and 600 grains, depending on which ones I am shooting at the time, and are wood with indicator nocks ( not sure if that matters or not).
I am with James, I would start with 6 inches and see what the bow wants.
Bob.

I have a 68" Morning star and a 68" North star. I run them both a little higher than you guys...about 6 3/4 per James a couple years ago. Both are superb.
