Anybody else getting chewed on? Got up the tree this morning, and low and behold, my Thermocell is slap out of fuel. So, I suck it up like the big tough guy that I am and endured about 25 minutes of the little blood suckers wearin me out. I couldnt stand it anymore, so I climbed down, snuck out of the woods (as sneaky as you can be wilst swattin yourself with a bow, quiver, treestand, and a canoe paddle). The part that really sucks...is all of the effort to get to the stand. 1.5 mile canoe ride, wait for the right wind, and tide..........all for not.
Now that you mentioned it, I have seen two or three this season. Especially when hunting around the marsh and swamps. Good thing we had a dry summer. DB
i hunt in east texas in a creek bottom and i have been chewed every evening, sometimes my thermocell does not even phase them. they can make a good hunt horrible
Last weekend I got ate alive, it has just been too warm. Temperature dropped the past couple days, so hopefully it will be better.
Mr. always89,
Nope, no problem here. It was +8 degrees (F) with a warm easterly breeze blowing. Should be a few more months before we encounter them again.
Best Wishes
My thermacell holster will hold another can of fuel and several additional patches. If you don't have a holster it is $10 well spent! Just don't forget to keep the pockets filled with fuel and patches.
Yep - we were being eaten pretty soundly again this morning. Come ooooooon cold weather.
Thermacell is the only to hunt river bottoms in Arkansas!!
