Title: fall turkeys
Post by: BrushWolf on October 09, 2016, 05:38:00 PM
Our fall turkey season has started here. Went out and saw a group of bird feeding in a field edge. Put the sneak on them to about 40yards then setup and call them in to about 15yards. I had to semi stand to shoot at the leader. I ended up missing her but no harm done. I'll get back after them. How do you all hunt fall turkeys? I have managed to luck in to some over the years. Just interested in hereing how everyone goes about it.

Got this bird last week. I use spot and stalk and ambush. This one got stalked. I have another tag to use this fall. Love hunting turkeys!

Pat, you're the man!  I've snuck up on'em with a scatter gun, but doing it with a stick and string is a whole new level!

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Have found fall hunting hens to be quite consistently fruitful as they have readily responded to a trumpet.

Have demonstrated little to no competency in pursuing gobs in the fall utilizing the same method.
