Title: GIANT ROOSEVELT BULL ELK VIDEO
Post by: sightsee on October 09, 2016, 08:50:00 AM
I put together this outdoor video and would like to hear your thoughts about it - the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm already working on a second video with similar theme but different music and I'd like to add your suggestions.

Liked the video but I am not a fan of "cranking" type music or in some cases any music.  A good video will stand on it's own and I don't think music adds to the effect.

The video was great!  You had some wonderful footage, crisp and clear. I really enjoyed watching it.

The bull in the wallow reminded me of  watching a bull rolling around in a wallow a few years ago.  I was about a hundred yards away and couldn't close the distance quickly enough.

The only thing I could point to for you to consider was your choice of music. That  was a negative to me.  I play a little guitar and  enjoy rock, but it  didn't seem to fit - maybe just me. Others will probably disagree with me.  My only reason to mention it was for constructive criticism.

Overall, really well done. Thanks for sharing.

I don't have any sound on my computer, so I could not hear, and can't comment on the music. But one question, what did the shot of the frog 3D have to do with the rest of the video? (remember I don't have sound, so I might have missed something)

I liked watching all those elk though!

Save the music for a surfing video. The first thing that happens when the tires hit the dirt is the radio off button.

Enjoyed the video, I turned down the volume on the tunes but kept it up enough to hear it.

A few pan outs of the clear cuts would have been nice to show some of the nasty stuff those big bulls live in ... some great bulls you showed.

Thanks for sharing

I guess I am in the minority? I loved both! Video and music.. If it floats your boat? Play it often and play it loud..   :knothead:

I liked the video and the music. However not together. I liked poison 25 years ago and the song is good. Just didn't fit the bill for the footage. Good job with the footage though. Keep it up!

I thought it was very good. I'd add some shots to show the terrain and I would end without the music...ust it fading out and that big ol' bull fading in to full bugle.

How did you get all the different pieces of media into that short film?  It looks like you have video, still camera shots (with different fades to give them motion), and trail cam footage. I've got all kinds of footage from the last couple trips I've made to AK I would like to do something similar with. I struggle just to trim clips on my phone...I've got video from different cameras, stills from different cameras, and GoPro footage, time lapses, etc. and how did you get the music overlaid on all of it?

Great footage there, I like how you put in lots of different terrain and trailcam footage together.
Didn't think much of the music, but everyone has different tastes so I kept listening and by the end I thought that it suited well because the fast pace of the changing scenes suited the tempo of the music.
Points for originality,
Memo.
