I'll post the story in a bit, but wanted to get the pictures up. My first kill with a bow and I'm pretty pumped. It isn't venison but I made a good shot that hit right where I was aiming. Thanks to Tsalt for the help tracking and skinning it.

Congrats!
Man, I have been hunting trad for over 20yrs and still have not gotten a yote!
Congrats to you!
Bisch
Nice shooting,congratulations!
Thanks Bisch!. I think I shot her more out of anger. LoL
I got in my stand around 4:50. By 5:15, the first doe was milling around about 50 yards away up hill from where I'm sitting. And she just ate acorn after acorn and milled around all afternoon. One would come join her and then they'd walk away for bit. Then ten minutes later, they'd come back. They just would not come down the hill. I've only been hunting for four years, two with a trad bow, but this was the most relaxed I've ever seen a group of deer.
Then, with about 10-15 minutes worth of shooting light left, there are four does in front of me and they are finally, slowly making their way down the hill. I'm getting prepped and calming my heart rate down, when all the sudden, the doe closest to me jumps and takes off about 20 yards to my left and starts looking back at where she ran from. It wasn't me, it was something else that had spooked her. Then I see the coyote coming down the hill, nose to the ground.
I'm ticked because I've been staring at these deer all afternoon and now a coyote is gonna run them off! So, when she came down and got 10 yards away from my stand, I pinned her to the ground. She did a 360 around the arrow and then jumped off of it, leaving my arrow still stuck in the ground! So not only did I get my coyote, but I got my arrow and broad head back too. Added bonus! LoL
Shot her with my Shrew Classic Hunter 58# at 28" with grizzly single bevels on gold tip blems.
you have my permission to kill ALL OF THEM. :)
Congrats! I managed to get a coyote last year. It was actually the first kill I got on film. The next day I missed a doe on film.
It's always nice to get your arrow back. Majority of the last few arrows i've launched at animals were broken. Very disappointing. That's one reason I have a hard time shooting expensive arrows.
oh nice those are sneaky little buggers
Nice job .
Good deal and way to go! You will get WAY more chances at deer than coyotes in the future.
I would like to stick a few of them, too. There are more and more coyotes around here now and fewer and fewer deer.
Congrats!
Wow that's AWSOME!!
I hate coyotes, congrats!!
Heck ya....Take out those yotes. Nice shot
That's awesome Randy
Very cool. Ive gotten several and kept the skulls.
Congratulations!!!
Congrats on your first trad kill
Congrats!
Nice job!
Congrats! I just killed my first yote this past Sat. after 35 years of bowhunting. I hope you realize how big of a deal it is.
That's awesome! I wish I could have some of that luck around here.
Awesome. That's a great first kill.
It took me 22 years to get one...
Great shot!
Love it! Congrats
My pleasure to help with tracking and skinning. It wasn't much of a tracking job as she didn't go far after you skewered her on your arrow! The skinning however was a chore and delayed my biscuits and gravy dinner, so I'll expect repayment of some kind for that. ;)
Congrats buddy!
Excellent harvest...congrats...
Have endeavored to take a calculated and most ethical shot with the exception of yotes...shot my last one head-on and it wasn't pretty.
That is awesome! Nice job!
It took me 22 years to get one...
Fun ain't it?!!!!
My first was a coyote as well!! Congrats!!

You know, I didn't really realize it until Tsalt and a few others and then many of you hunters who have said how long it took you all to take one......I do feel very fortunate. Even though I didn't take home any venison, it was a special hunt and an awesome first trad harvest. Very excited.
Congrats!!!
