Jim Belcher of Sky Archery is making some of my Shrew bows now and he made a Red Bird bow in honor of my wife Nancy, (Red Bird) who passed away last month. I picked it up today and I'll be taking it to my Shrew Haven deer camp in a couple of weeks.
Red Bird will be hunting with me again

Awe inspiring!! I'm finding it hard to find the right words. My condolences and good hunting!
Beautiful! Should be some very meaningful hunts.

Looks fantastic Ron. It'll be an honor to carry Redbird arrows this fall.
Beautiful bow and arrows! And a beautiful way to honor and remember your lovely wife. I am very sorry for your loss.
very fine, fitting bow!
What a great tribute to Nancy, A.K.A. Red Bird!
The Red Bird bow is a beauty. May the tribute to your late wife bring you peace of mind and heart. God bless.
Nice looking set up.
Very touching sentiment.
Very nice tribute Ron

I love making wood arrows, however I can't dream of ever getting close to the quality of arrow that Paul Jalon at Elite Arrows puts out. I'm glad he teams up with Ron for arrows. I've got a set of the Autumn Legend's that Paul makes for Ron and they're like shooting an aluminum arrow in a tuxedo. For 10-15 years in the eighties and 90's I shot wood arrows with Zwickey two blade Delta Diamonds on them. With my Redbird arrows I acquired some Zwickey two-blade Eskimo's, the head that Nancy used in the latter part of her life. It'll be nice to step back to my Zwickey roots and honor her hunting spirit with that combination. I've got a fall turkey tag and numerous deer tags, so I'm hoping I get to add some red to my Redbird arrows.
Fitting and loving tribute to Ron's life mate.
Excellent!
Blessings to all as they carry her spirit with them...
That's a beautiful tribute. I bet Red Bird would love it.
Very nice Ron. It brings tears to my eyes, what a great way to be able to keep her with you at your side. Good luck in the great north woods this year looking forward to some of your campfire stories.

Congratulations on a dandy buck and a beautiful picture. It couldbe the poster child for how to do a harvest photo.
Richard, that is indeed a great picture. Nancy would be proud of what her arrows accomplished. :notworthy:
From the picture on your profile you must have a real honey hole where you hunt. :D
Totally Awesome Brother!
Ron,
It's a beautiful tribute all the way around.
Beautiful bow, beautiful arrows, to honor a beautiful soul...
Love you brother! Enjoy the hunt and give my best to the guys. :readit:

Ron, I have been really fortunate in my hunting spots. It was probably those shrew bows and custom arrows
Ray, I have a good buddy that is a great photographer. When I'm lucky enough to kill a special critter he always takes the picture.
Ron and Ray, I can't wait to hear your stories from shrew haven this year. Shoot straight and hunt safe. Rich
Jim is a great bowyer. Will he be able to make a 64" shrew?
Thats awesome Ron, enjoy the bow, Mike
Opening day of Michigan's bow season found me hunting on the farm where Nancy was born. It was a dreary rainy day but as I sit in my blind waiting for daylight listening to the light rain on the roof, I held the RedBird bow in my lap and reminisced about all of the opening days that Nancy and I had shared in our 57 years together.
It felt like she was right there with me and I think her Spirit will always be with me for the rest of my days.
Paul said he'd have my RedBird arrows done this week. In the mean time I had some aluminum arrows that shot straight and true. This RedBird bow is certainly a sweet shooter....but then how could it not be. :archer:

That's a vintage arrow set-up Ron. A big ole Ace head on a 24SRT aluminum arrow that's probably late 60's era. I remember seeing both of those in my early seventies Kittredge Bow Hut catalogue.
Very nice, Ron..
Awesome tribute, good luck to all you guys this year!
Great tribute To the love of your life.
:campfire:
It is a tough one Ron. She is with you in spirit on your hunt and will never be forgotten.
God Bless
