This adventure started last year as I was splitting some guava for staves. I had a split run out and it was too thin on one end to make a hunting weight bow, so either it would go in the smoker or it would make a low poundage bow. What the hell right? I roughed it out and let it sit. Fast forward to yesterday. It was raining so on my porch I worked on it all day. We decided to go for a pretty light weight bow so she could shoot all day with it.
It is 63in. nock to nock and pulls 24lbs at 28 inches. it is Strawberry guava. (thanks goes out to manny for all his help with earlier guava bow making tutelage.) The tips are iron wood (Australian Pine) cut on the same day as the stave. She likes it and shoots it well! Killing cans at 15 yards. Here come the pics!

So you made your wifey a selfie, good for you and especially for her.
 Well done!!
Nice looking bow, and your wife looks like she enjoyed shooting it.
That looks really cool. Hope I can find time to take a try at crafting a selfbow before I'm put out to pasture.

Very nice!
Nice. In that 1st pic of her it looks like she's standing over an elephants heart. Took a second for me to realise it's a bag.

Nice looking bow and she killed that can for sure! Nice jobs all around!
I think they are both, "Keepers"!
Great work! And good shooting to both of ya!
Super cool. Real nice bow. Now you need to make one for you.
Thumper Dunker, I sure do. I just roughed out a 70 inch long piece of rock solid pretty strait guava today. I am thinking english long bow style. But I don't know just yet. Lots of rasp and scraper work between now and then. Might do a build along on the bench. we shall see.
Good stuff as usual Michael. Beautiful bow and Companion. It looks like she has made a great shot on the can and everyone is having fun. Can't beat that!
