Title: Dalton, bumper crop in God's country?
Post by: olddogrib on September 17, 2016, 07:56:00 AM
Looks as if the white oaks are going to be "raining" in a few weeks on the Blue Ridge this year. Not what I generally like to see if you're trying to pattern stuff.  I should be in a tree this morning. These seem to be the years that if I don't score in September, things get real tough in October (my favorite time to hunt).  The woods will seem like a "ghost town" in a few weeks.  If I put out groceries, it'll just sprout...and the squirrels and 'coons will send me a Christmas card come December!

It sure makes the hunting hard.

It definitely makes it tough! Years like these make a man really appreciate a good climber. Success can, and will be had, it just takes more effort. Now is the time when all the miles i put on my keens this summer will pay off!
