i have an old longbow which was found at a yard sale.the lower linmb has a slight twist. is it possible toget it out ?

It all depends. you say slight twist so I assume yes.
Put up some pictures, you will be able to get better feed back.
I just took out some limb twist in an old recurve today. I put on the teapot and when I had good steam, I slowly passed the limb through the steam, twisting and holding it. A few passes for each limb and it was straight.
One advantage of a longbow over a recurve is that the limbs are not as likely to twist...my guess is that old longbow may be an all wood bow in which case you probably should just leave it as is...it will not likely be shootable even if you do manage to straighten it
