Got the bottom leather buttons sewed in. I like these because the are silent and make no noise on treestands chairs etc.

Chad... I have an arm guard I bought a fair while ago. It is thick leather and was a fairly decent arm guard. (the builder is not important).
After time, however it seems like the rear facing edge is bulging out, stretched. I am sure it is from me constantly pulling on it to get the guard back up my arm a bit (from sliding toward my wrist).
I didn't realize it till recently but when shooting my ASL this stretched part gets in the way of the string. I put on an older guard and voila, certain issues disappear. Time for a new one.
So, from your point of view, as a builder of these creations. Is there something I need to look for in my next arm guard that might alleviate this or is it simply a function of " I wore the dang thing out" ?

Chuck I think you just wore it out, LOL. Sometimes the design can cause it to bulge out or where the leather came from on the hide and the direction it was cut can be a factor. IE lower grade cuts tend to have more bulges etc. A bend or shoulder is a lot cleaner then a belly or shank for example but cost 4-5 x as much.

Those look great Chad! I have an idea for an armguard design I'd like to have made. I'll talk to you about it next time we fish. Gotta get back in the yaks and after those kings soon!

Sitting home with our 1 year old Elin she is sick today and my bride had to go out this afternoon so I decided it's time to finish this post. So I got the last two arm guards sewed up around the edges well watching Gene & Berry primal dreams and taking care of Lulu Bell.

Double stitch around the compass opening one black one artificial sinew . Then sew on antler button and drill and tap antler burls, fill holes with epoxy and put in brass screws.

Got four pieces of pigskin cut out the back the arm guards with.
(http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o762/chadorde/F2E24454-6E75-4B00-9625-F9BA4FD7DA00_zpsmwji46jq.jpg) (http://s1342.photobucket.com/user/chadorde/media/F2E24454-6E75-4B00-9625-F9BA4FD7DA00_zpsmwji46jq.jpg.html)
Apply glue to both surfaces and let dry until slightly tacky.
(http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o762/chadorde/AFC4CC38-EA3C-40B8-9604-1422E6825B48_zpsg19ywkcf.jpg) (http://s1342.photobucket.com/user/chadorde/media/AFC4CC38-EA3C-40B8-9604-1422E6825B48_zpsg19ywkcf.jpg.html)
-
Once the glue is dry I go back around and repunch all the holes for the stitching around the edge.
(http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o762/chadorde/E3BA1239-3C8D-4443-AA39-72D0185EECBE_zpshyfxdnos.jpg) (http://s1342.photobucket.com/user/chadorde/media/E3BA1239-3C8D-4443-AA39-72D0185EECBE_zpshyfxdnos.jpg.html)
Then I stitch around the edge with contrasting thread or matching depending on customers request. 15 minutes to go around one time by hand. I need a sewing machine!

Agree with everything said here - Chad went above and beyond with mine and my dad's for Father's Day last year...complete with built in sheath for G. Fred's mini knives, and buttons made from deer antler my late grandfather took.
We never go anywhere without them, and will keep them forever. Chad does fantastic work.
-
Very nice!
