Ok, ok .
Well first off I do shoot an 86" bow and you will notice right off when you see pics oohh and my arrahs are 48" HeHe
It started out on saturday nights hunt when I saw three does going past one of my other stands , of course I wasn't in it . I decided that the next night I would hunt that stand in hopes of seeing them again. I was in place around 4:00 pm and all was quiet and I was thinking they are not going to show. I heard something to my left and to my suprise it was a lone doe and now its about 6:30 and it looks like she isn't going to get in range on the path she is taking. I waited and she decides to turn and come down off the hill some and lands on the outer limits of what I like for distance . I decided to waite and see if she will get closer then she moved a little closer and turns broad side to me . I decide to waite the more she stands there I get a little better angle in my seat and take the shot. It all looks good till just as the arrow arives and she jumped forward a little , the hit is just at the back edge of the ribs . I see her run just about 20 - 30 yards and stop but I can't see her throught the brush. I waited till dark and sneaked out real quiet .I called my best bud to come help track. We waited 3 hours and went in , found the arrow complete pass through but gut material full length. We move down the trail a little ways to where I saw her last and find sparse blood (dark color ) thinking liver hit. We hear a deer get up and leave slowley up the hill , thinking we bumped her up we only looked a little farther to find the bed and more blood from out both sides and backed out . I went out the next morning and circled the way we thought she went and no blood , on the way around the lower side of the brush and my clover I see her in the goldenrod. Now looking at it in the daylight we were 15 yards from her the night before and didn't see her . I was very happy to have recovered her and gave thanks for the gift . I cleaned her up and off to the processor we went . I have given thanks many times since for the gift of such a fine animal.
It isn't much of a srory but there it is :0) Maybe Ken can post a pic , I never did could post pics :0) Thanks for the interest. Drew

I think the doe would look much bigger if you laid your Turk on it.

I don't think he could take the risk of the wind blowing it away Aram, what with how light that baby is... :bigsmyl:
Congrats!
I have to ask though, why an 86" bow and 48" arrows?
Drew,
Nice shooting and congratulations
P.S. Is that the Saluki Longbow I spent some time with?
:campfire:
Ken
Congrats Drew. She'll be some good eating.
Thanks again guys :0)
James the 86" bow and 48 " arrows is more like 62" bow and 31" arrows but if it was 86 and 48 sh e would look alot bigger :0)
Ken : It could be one and the same bow and I think it is :0) Drew
Chris : That Turk went home with Nate so I couldn't loose it in the wind :0)
Congratulations! :scared:
