Christopher; I live in central Mississippi. I am about 65 miles north of Pearl. I will be glad to help you any way that I can. There are several traditional shooters around. We also have numerous traditional bow tournaments. The Southern Traditional Archery Association puts them on.
I heard about a guy that broke down there on a Saturday night one time

Oh I'm from Hurley and most everyone has a couch on their front porch and it's only a longbow shot from Vancleave. :dunno:
I'm in Lefore county (Greenwood) and have never personally met another traditional archer. When I tell folks I hunt deer all season with a longbow. They get that look of confusion and have to explain it's basically a stick and string and they go oh, you mean a recurve and I just say yeah close enough lol. I don't even try to explain the difference anymore. I definitely don't try to explain why I would choose to hunt with trad equipment anymore either. Gets old trying to explain yourself to people that don't have a clue why anyone would hunt with a longbow when you can shoot a crossbow or compound.
I'm in Vicksburg but go to Clinton one day a week.
Matt Steed above would be a great contact for you.Super person, with high standards, and a impressive law enforcement background. Oh yea. He shoots a mean long bow as well.

My wife is from Greenwood and I'm from Greenville.
I still have to explain to my BIL why I prefer my trad bow over his 400fps crossbow that sounds like it blows a limb everytime he shoots it.
I'm in Madison. Would love to check out your bows sometime Will. I'm sure that waiting list is going to be getting long after everyone gets a chance to shoot that pass around bow!
I'm just East of Tupelo, close to Fulton.
