I shoot 3 under after yrs of shooting split. all my bows are tillered for split. Can I correct some of the tiller problem by going to an elevated rest?
-
What problems exactly are you seeing?
-
Thanks for your response Steve. My recurve is significantly noisier and it shoots a little left compared to split.
-
I have read that raising the nock point helps. In effect using aa evaluated rest will have the same results.

you would think that since your fingers are closer to where they would be when drawing split -- it would alleviate some of the problem. thanks for your response M60gunner.

FYI: I went ahead and installed a bear weather rest, raising the position of my fingers to approximately where they would be if I was shooting split finger, and it quieted my recurve down real well. thanks

Ever bow I own except my black widow kb shoots quieter split than 3 under. Probably cause I ordered it tillered for 3 under

When I used to shoot three under I liked using an elevated rest, and the cheap plastic screw-in type work surprisingly well.

Since I used to shoot split all my bows are tiller that way. However, when I installed a bear weather rest, and thus raised the arrow shaft and my fingers higher, my RER quieted down and sounds almost as quiet as a longbow again. However, I did have to go to a weaker shaft, because the weather rest is quite a bit thicker than a regular leather strike plate.
