Made this out of 30yr old buckskin a friend's father-in-law took in Colorado. Gonna make him an Osage bow to go with it.
I've already added a neck sheath with two wingbone calls.
Been awhile since I last posted here. Hope I'm still welcome and still considered TGMM...

Very nice!
AWESOME Joe!!!!!!!
Wow!
You are an artist....
I love it. Was the leather that color or did you stain it somehow? Ken
That is sharp! Great to see you back.
Awesome work!!!
Bisch
Very nice leather work.
Anyone would be proud to own that!
Yes, I stained it. In the pic you can see quiver laying on original color of the buckskin.
That is sooooo well done! Good to see your work again.
Sweet job that will work well!!
Very nice work! Welcome back
very nice !!
That looks great. That is just the inspiration I need as I have 2 deer hides about the same age as yours that I have been trying to decide what to do with. If you don't mind me asking...what did you use for your stain?
Bill-
absolutely beautiful work, all of it. welcome back.
Real nice work Joe!! :clapper:
I have always admired your talent with primitive equipment!!

Sweet!
Nice work Joe! Good to see you posting.
That's amazing! Great work.
Bill, I tried several different test pieces with different things and found the best thing for it was a kiwi brand scuff cover for brown shoes. Not polish, it says scuff cover brown brun on the bottle.
The regular brown polish in a can made it a little to red for me and it had a higher sheen.
The scuff cover provided an uneven finish with sort of a worn patina look.
Best of luck with yours!
And, I guess if it gets scared up,,, use a little scuff cover!
Hey guys thanks for the kind words and compliments!
Excellence job, and welcome back!
Simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing. :campfire:
