John, do a quick search on the Shooters forum. I have posted several pics and tips on set up there.

PM me if I can help further.

Also take a look at how Joel Turner recommends to use a clicker. Its an amazing system that will really get a person in control of their shot

I've revisited the clicker myself and it's made a amazing difference in my shooting. I'm even going to hunt with mine attached. When setup correctly it's a great tool !

I hunt with mine on top limb or bottom limd depending on bow. I always mount mine on the portion of the limb that doesnt bend closest to the riser.

I always put mine several inches down from the nock on the top limb.  I don't want a bunch of string hanging down to get hung up on brush.  No problems at all with this placement. This picture shows where I usually locate mine.

First thing get rid of chain.

I put mine on top limb like David just posted. I draw my bow and watch for a spot on upper limb that doesn't bend when drawn and place it there. I then take the cord that replaced the supplied chain and string and just put through string and then just pull it back and forth to adjust. Once adjusted i tie a knot and cut off extra. You might have to tie on some floss above the cord so it doesn't slide up.

Here is a pic of how I have set mine up for many years.

Allen is the cord you use the same as the stuff used for D loops on compounds ? also how do you
attach it to the clicker blade ,do you just melt the end ?
sorry for all the questions but ive been playing around with mine today & managed to get rid of nearly all the chain & started to get it going off but ive still got work to do .

I use the bushing that the chain is connected on. I spread it open to get the chain out and use the release rope and put it in bushing and reinstall it. I get less cutting than just putting through blade.

Joel uses a cotter pin on his to eliminate all cutting.

Yes, I use D loop material. I melt the end after I put it through the clicker blade, then coat the last 1/2" or so in glue- pull it through and let the glue dry.

How much do you cut down the base Allen... that looks so tiny... but I love that... one reason I've gone to the Crick-it over the Clickety Clicker the last several years...

I just cut the base down until it is slightly larger than the clicker blade. It makes it much smaller looking.

Thanks Allen... it almost looked like the blade was even smaller as well...

Do you have to replace the tape when cutting it down and if so, what tape do you use to replace it...

I use outdoor double sided tape that is gray with red peel off backing. It can be removed very easily but sticks really well.

I use the same tape as David M. 3M double sided tape. You can find it at Wal-Mart

Nice looking bow David Mitchell.
When I used one I kept it higher on the upper limb like in the photo. You can also tame them down for hunting. As far as noise goes.

You're right, RedShaft.  I put a small piece of that same mounting tape on the clicker blade and depending on how much I use I can make the clicker totally quiet and only feel it in the string when it clicks.

Allen, could you see if you can find that link and post it here?  I tried searching for it with no luck. I remember setting mine up with your help on that thread and I'm going back to the clicker this year and couldn't quite remember the setup. Thanks...Mike

I'm specifically looking for the limb position for the clicker. I thought I remembered a measurement down from where the string last touches the limb, but I could be way off base there. I still had my clicker with the cut down base and d loop on it, but when I mounted it I needed a much longer piece of string. It is a different bow so that could explain it, but it does look lower than I remember.

Mike, on my recurves I put the clicker 8 1/2" down from the limb tip. This is far enough down to ensure that there is no contact with the string upon release, yet high enough so that you have a fairly short clicker cord.

I did a quick search and didn't find the thread on the Shooters Forum either.
