It is Miller Time for the rest of my life. After 50 years of steady employment I am done.
Can't wait to fully enjoy my bow club, fly fishing saltwater, DIY hunts, deer hunting everyday it doesn't rain.
I am going to every shoot next year and camping for the duration of the shoots.
I have been looking forward to this for so long and it is finally here. Thank God!
Congrats Gil....Well deserved. Enjoy life!
I got about 12 years to go. I will retire @ 52.

Congrats! My official retirement date was August one. So, I'm in the same boat. Has not been easy thus far.
That dang storm that came thru two weeks ago downed two huge trees resulting in crushing my poor old 87 4x4 Toyota and damage to one of my out buildings.
I've been cutting trees and hauling wood/brush for almost two weeks straight. The poor old busted up truck still did it's job as I off loaded everything onto my property.
I'm hoping my friend the mechanic can at least get a windshield and back glass installed after much metal work. She ain't dead yet! :)
That's a great plan, Gil. I thought the same way, but the honey do list grew exponentially when I hung it up. Good luck!
Congratulations Gil !!!
Congratulations, now about your list. It an'it that easy, wish it was. I know, I tried but one thing I enjoy most. If I feel I getting up at 0500 it is because I am doing something fun not work.
Congratulations Gil, It is an awesome accomplishment and blessing.

Congrats. I dunno. I've been retired more than 10 years now and still don't have time to do as much hunting fishing, canoeing, camping, riding my Harley, etc. as I would like. But I'm working on it. :gold tooth: Enjoy.
I am jealous, I have 10 yrs to go if everything works out.
I retire on 9 September and leave on the 12th with my son and brothers from back east. It is their first hunt out west for elk. I will be up there until 4-h archery championships on the 24th. Will be tired, but happy. Congrats to all refugees...been a long push
No more commute, sounds too good.

I was an IT manager of Mainframe Infrastructure. I had a great group of young people working for me. They were from an outsourcing company. As soon as their management heard I retired, they called to offer me a job with their company. I had to say no!!!! Ha! Where is my bow?!!!!
Thanks for all the kind words.
Gil

I can relate to that!
Enjoy!!
Congrats Gil, I call everyday Friday
Congratulations! One more year and I'll join you. Sounds like you've got some great plans.
I've been retired for 6 + years. Today, I decided to shoot my bow, but the lawn needs mowing; yesterday I decided to take the canoe out for a little fishing, but the screen door on the gazebo needed to be fixed; the day before that I was going to put some blinds and tree stands out, but the tractor & utv needed their oil changed. I could go on, but you get the idea, "it's great to be retired!" :bigsmyl:
Edgar good thing my wife is used to doing all those things. Since I have so much free time I may actually help her now and then, after about 3 years of executing my original plan! Ha! It would be funny if not true. All my friends call my wife, Saint Vera!!
Congratulations. I will be right behind you. My last day in the office is 02 SEP. Just happens to be my birthday on 03SEP.
Just in time for elk season. Next year I may spend all of September camped in Colorado high country.
That's my plan this year except I'll be in the Big Horns of WY chasing Elk.
Wish I was going. We go where we can get the tag over the counter and hunt walk in areas only. Next year I will be there for September.
Good luck in elk camp.
