Blackhawk Field Archers in Shirland, IL (near Rockford) will host it's 24th annual Traditional shoot August 20 & 21. It's a good one - the club was established in 1946 - this is the 70th anniversary! Great people, good food, camping, vendors and home made targets! We'll be there - hope to see you. Here is a link to their website with all the info.

See you guys there!
Same weekend as the R100... Time to flip a coin I suppose. Haven't been to either of the shoots before. Thanks for posting Bob.
This is a great shoot with a fantastic bunch of people involved.
After a little research, I am leaning towards the Blackhawk Field Archers Shoot. Guessing that a little smaller crowd and camping are going to outweigh the idea of large/odd targets the r100 supplies.
Time to get some arrows ready!
I noticed on the website they said plenty of camping. Anyone know if you must pre-register for a primitive spot?
Thanks
Blaine, I've never camped there before so I can't answer you question on pre-registration. What I can tell you is that Bob, Jan and all the club members are easy going and friendly. That said, I think you'll be fine rolling in, setting up and paying them when they arrive.
BTW: Do you have anyone to shoot with?
Thanks for the info Dennis.
I do not have anyone to shoot with. Going to be "get out of the house" trip for me!
Blaine - you do not have to pre-register for primitive camping. Just show up and pick a spot. Hope we see you there.
Thanks Bob. See you there!
Excellent shoot.
Dennis introduced me to it some years ago.He will be a good challenge to shoot against.
Friendly folks, and a great course.
Good lunch for sale too.
I would be there were it not for shoulder surgery.
Buy some Great Ace products! and have fun.
I miss having you in my 3-d crew this year, Irv! Heal up soon, so you can get back on the course together.

Bob-
Just curious about rolling in Friday night... Any issue with that? My father said he'd like to join so I'm a 30 year old waiting for a Christmas like morning to be out of doors with Dad and our bows.
Thanks in advance.
Blaine - shouldn't be a problem arriving on Friday night - usually a few early arrivals. We will be rolling in during late afternoon to set up our booth. Will see you there.
Sounds great Bob-
Thank you for all the answers. Really looking forward to the weekend!
