Title: Toelke kind of week
Post by: Biathlonman on August 03, 2016, 02:28:00 PM
I recon I'm the happiest guy in Kentucky today.  Got home late last night and found a beautiful like new Toelke Super Duper D.  Original owner had it built in June and couldnt get along with it so I got it cheap. 66", 52@28. Then today the mailman delivers my 56" T/D Pika 54@28 in stunning black and white ebony.  Man I'm wishing I had another set of hands.  The redesign of the Super D is exceptional and the little Pika continues to amaze.

I'm pretty spoiled by my Chinook and Pika but probably will also end up wit a Super D someday.  They are very easy to shoot well from the first arrow, but that honestly could be said of all Toelke models really.

Congratulations, great looking bows. Love those Toelke bows. I have 3 of them now. The beaver tail rest and side plates look great but the first thing I do when I get one is take them off and put on velcro.

Azhunter, done and done, same treatment to both of these.  I'm up to 4 Toelkes in the stable at present.

Congratulations,

I'm sure you will love them both.

I have a lot of bows (shame on me I guess) and I had to have a Toelke for my collection, so one day I called for a chat with Dan.

I liked a Pika he had in stock and ordered it.

The fact that I have a lot of bows does not reflect that I am on a continual search for the perfect one to cure all my shooting flaws...it simply means that this is a great age of resurgence in traditional archery and there are SO MANY talented bowyers out there today. Looking at all that craftsmanship hanging on the rack is awesome to me.

I know that if I had to, I could force myself to shoot just one and become comfortable and skilled with it.

I will be doing a lot more admiring and no shooting for a few months (I hope)while I rehab from rotator cuff surgery.

I wont be happy till I own a bow from every bowyer...HaHA.

Even though I just took possession of a new Holm Made Osprey, I'm waiting my turn for a Dwyer Endeavor and dreaming of ordering a Northern Mist Baraga.

Please enjoy all of yours and may you never have to shoot just one.   :D

I will say this about the PIKA...it is one of the few bows I own that needed no special adjustments in shooting form for me. Just used Dan's recommended arrows, picked it up and shot it.
He told me it is an amazing little bow and he was right.

A few years ago, I shot somebody's Super Static with a classic grip.  Now, I think I've had five Toelkes, including my Whip that I'm shooting now.  I have another Chinook on the way and a Pika is at the top of my want list.  I've had a lot of bows over the years and still have a bunch, but the Toelkes are definitely a cut above.

Brad knows his bows. Kinda miss the days when he was looking for what he liked best;  he used to post a lot of sweet bows down around my 45#'s!
