Just ordered a kifaru timberline for my upcoming elk hunt!! Can't wait until it gets here. Cutting it close I know lol.
Between the enlightened equipment bag and this pack I've already saved 8lbs over the previous trip equipment

Sweet, where ya headed?
8lbs is lot of weight when you lug it around.
8# is so much more than most people think! You are gonna like the Kifaru, don't be bashful about hitting them up for fine tuning fit when you get it. And another avenue if you are coming to Colorado to elk hunt, stop in at Kifaru or more fun, stop by rmsgear, they are a Kifaru dealer and could help fine tune the fitting.
When ounces count, an 8# weight savings is stupendous! Sounds like good planning so far. Have fun and post numerous hero pics.
You're learning grasshopper! :)
Eight pounds isn't much when you are standing at the truck. About the weight of a gallon of water. Its a lot of weight when you are 5 miles into a hunt.
The last time we under took an endeavor like this we had a big jar of peanut butter for our breakfast bagels... At 34 miles in we kept playing hot potato with it every so many miles... It's amazing how it affected our packs
I ordered one a couple weeks ago. 26" frame with 22 mag pack. While at Kifaru I was able to throw a frame on that had 80# loaded on it, the frame is magical. Its really cool how that frame distributes the weight.
