Title: Custom bowstrings
Post by: longshadow on July 26, 2016, 05:49:00 PM
Does Josh Sowerby (Oliverstacy) still make bowstrings.  I have ordered from him in the past but can't find his ordering info anywhere.  Does anyone have his website or phone #,  it would be appreciated..

Thanks Alan

I pretty sure I read last spring that he stopped making them. Not sure why. Give Chad Weaver a call. Great strings.

I've got strings from both   http://hcbstrings.com/   and   http://www.tenringstrings.com/    and was very happy with both. im sure Chad makes a great string as well. Lots of talented people here on tradgang.

Edit: I forget but I have also got strings made by Rocky Mountain Specialty gear that were also awesome.  Choosing a string maker is maker is hard with so many good options.

I have got strings from SBD, Ten ring and Chad. Lately I been loving the BCY X material Chad uses. No stretch in our AZ. 110 degree heat.

I wouldn't have any string stretch with Dacron in 110 degree heat because I would be indoors under the air conditioning and my bow would be with me!    :)

I am going to risk a stupid question here... How many ways are there making a bowstring? As far as I know, we have endless loop and flemish twist. Different materials of course, but what makes one string stand out from the crowd?
