lets see them folks! Vintage, reproduction, and custom made. I enjoy them all. I was also hoping someone could educate me on the finer points between the different models. Thanks guys!

1958 Bear Kodiak "sowbelly"
When I got it the finish was pretty beat up.
After sanding it down I decided to darken it up..I'm never selling it..so why not make it the way I'd like..lol
So I stained the riser and the glass.
It is a maple riser with white glass.

here's a link to some good info...
http://www.stickbow.com/features/collecting/bearkodiaks/
John as much as your posting that link is the correct thing to do you just made my expertise level available to all...I have been using that information for years to make myself look uncanny at knowing the Grayling Kodiaks...I just referred to it yesterday to determine whether a bow on the big auction site might be a Kodiak rather than a Kodiak Special

lol..
Hope you don't mind too much.
I guess we know about the same amount on the subject...lol

Longtoke I see you are relatively new to the Gang so there is a good chance you have not visited the spot where the really good Grayling Bear info lives...just bounce on down the menu until you hit the History/Collecting forum...and be prepared for several hours of pouring through information and pics...my thread entitled BH Series 1960 Kodiaks grew way beyond anything I would have expected and I still bring it back to the top once in a while...right now Grayling Bears are selling at prices in the realm of their original price...I have bought a mid fifties Kodiak or Kodiak Special, a 1962 Kodiak Magnum, a 1966 Kodiak and a 1966 Tamerlane for a total amount of 715 dollars, about 250 dollars less than I paid for my favourite 1960 Kodiak...I gave up posting pics here a long time ago but you will find lots of my pics in the old threads
