I got the call a couple weeks ago from Gregg Coffee from Javaman Archery stating my number had come up. To say I was excited would be an understatement.
Now I had to make choices and very difficult choices. What length, what poundage, what wood to be chosen for the build. Would I opt for a T/D? So many choices and so much fun.
Gregg as always was a joy to work with and has begun the task of building my master piece.
In true custom fashion Gregg offered to send me pictures of the build along. Which I think is awesome! I could not wait for the pictures to begin.
Sorry guys I'll start the build along pictures tomorrow, time for some beauty sleep lord knows I need it.
Man thats awesome, he said I am coming up in the next couple of weeks so I understand your excitement.
Congrats!! I'll be following along. I just bought a used Elkheart. (Haven't got it yet.) if I like it I may be getting on Gregg's list.
:coffee:
He is one of the best. Great guy.
Sweet. I am on the list, but pretty far out. Gonna be rough.
Nice Ed! Is that the one that's sort of like the Elkhart, but longer?
I'm sure it will be a winner Ed!!
Now about that beauty sleep.... :saywhat:
Gregg pretty had endless choices in wood options. We agreed that the limbs would be all Yew wood with Kudu horn overlays and tips. I really like the contrast of the two.
Next onto the handle section we agreed to go with the I-beam in Pheonolic with Dark Chechen and Yew. I also opted for the T/D with Kudu handle overlays with finger grooves.
I asked for the grip to be a little bigger than usual and to be cut 3/16" past center.
Now for the eye candy.......

Sounds great. Congratulations Big Guy.
You......beauty sleep......say it isn't so......lol.
Here is the first picture I got showing the wood and Phenolic that was used to create the handle section.
The two outside are the Chechen and the others being the Phenolic and Yew.

The Yew and Clear glass for the limbs. Can't wait to see how the Yew ages. Love how it darkens up.

that was quick.
As I said before Gregg was an absolute joy to work with on this bow. He went above and beyond to make it the way I wanted. From the wood choices to the specifications on the grip and centershot he knocked it out of the park.
Give Gregg a call and get on the build list , you will not be disappointed.
I'll get some more action photos this weekend at Denton Hill.
If your attending the shoot , look me up and take it for a test drive.
Thanks,
Big Ed
That's a beauty.......I really like that Chechen. My new favorite wood.
Hey Ed, Ill look you up!!
Ed and Gregg that came out looking great. I bet it shoots just as good. Your old Elk heart is shooting great thanks again. Take Care.

A true work of art, enjoy.
Really nice design, long deflex riser with relatively short reflex limbs. Very accurate and forgiving with great performance. Bet the bow bolt gives it nice mass weight as well.
Sweet looking bow !!! Gregg sure builds some nice ones :notworthy:
I'm at ETAR now. Would love to see it up close. I'll be watching for you!
