Title: Like a pig in mud @ rmsgear
Post by: Longtoke on July 22, 2016, 02:42:00 AM
Had the day off so I got up early and drove to RMSGear to get me some more arrows.  They took good care of me and got me set up with some awesome new sticks and a few razor sharp cutthroat single bevels. While the fletch was drying I took the chance to shoot some amazing bows I a have only seen on the internet but never handled in real life.  Shot bows until I couldn't hardly shoot bows anymore.

Some of my favorites were the 59 kodiak and a 3 piece pronghorn longbow. I even ran into a fellow Tradgang member there.  All in all a great day at a great store, well worth the drive.

Thanks, your thread inspired me to get some four fletch made up.

It took a lot of will power to leave with just the arrows and not another bow.

I certainly wish we had a shop like that somewhere in my neck of the woods. Frustrating to show up at an archery shop and get looked at like I grew a third eye when I ask if they have a traditional section.

Love that place!  This spring I had a chance to pick Tom Senior's brain about shooting and talked  with Tommy about wrestling!

I know what you mean Fireball

I gave up on getting anything or even asking for anything archery related at bass pro or cabs because the grumps at the archery counter always seemed so annoyed and rude.  Not the case here at all.

Nice meeting you at the shop, Clay! I hung out there all day, and then went with Tom Sr to his weekly club 3D shoot. I had a blast, as I do every time I get to visit with the Clum's and the RMSG gang!

Due to Bisch's post back in mid-April, I stopped in to RMS Gear when I was in Denver the 4th of July week.  Definitely the largest selection of traditional bows of any place I've been (except perhaps some large traditional shoots with a bunch of vendors).

That big 8-pt whitetail mount nearest the bow section is a sight to behold! At over 160", it's a one-in-a-million 8 point.

Folks there were nice too.  Great place and worth your time if in the area.

I've been doing business with RMS Gear for about two years now...long distance! (from Michigan).

Absolutely world class folks offering the best in traditional equipment...Best experience - no surprises.

Was in town for work a couple weeks ago and got to stop in.  They handed me six arrows and said make yourself at home.  If I could have spent a bit more time I would have bought a bow. Literally hundreds in stock.

Congrats on the new arrows.

Personally, I would be scared to go in that place. I don't know if I could afford that visit, lol.

I always check out their website. They do have it all  :)

Just visited their website, no cedar shafts listed and no glue-on field points.  Are they out of the wood shafts business or did I miss something?

I shot that pronghorn a couple of weeks ago when I was out there.  NICE!  It seriously tested my resolve to reduce rather than add to my gear.

I am pretty sure they have an arrow builder and they have a big range of glue on points, even lots of 5/16th stuff. They have a new website, maybe just forgot that stuff? call them up and find out.

Bisch! it was nice meeting you too!

J-dog, Those are victory vforce shafts.   400 spine, 30 1/2 inches with 250 grains up front.

Gregg- I'm not much for 3 piece bows, but that pronghorn really made an impression on me. Nice bow for sure.

I'm so jealous of my younger brother Alex he lives down the road and gets to hang out there on a regular basis!  If you encounter a blond, bearded young man with lots of viking tattoos that's him.
