Title: Mounting RMS cuttthroats
Post by: J-dog on July 11, 2016, 06:51:00 AM
Just got these to try this year. They are solid and all that jazz but what got me was mounting them up to screw in adapters! It was so easy??
You get to mounting heads on screw in adapters and they get a wobble or don't spin just right on the point or a spin checker then you have to reheat or tweek til they spin true. I am OCD when it comes to my gear so this can drive me nuts til it is perfect.
The RMS cuttthroats just seemed to pop right on no worries?? very very minor work with them, good to go. Outstanding -

They do come sharpened up to the "burr" stage. It wouldn't take a stroke or two to ge them honed knocking that burr off. This doesn't matter to me as I am gonna shoot me into targets a few hundred times fore season gets here.

Solid product, thanks RMS peeps,

J

Just got me a few also. Screw-in variety. Pretty sharp right out of the package but shouldn't take much to get 'em hair popping sharp. Hope to have Bullwinkle attest to that sharpness come early Oct. in Newfoundland.

I still like to tinker? and I like the longer design of the 160 glue on over the 200 screw in?? just a toss up but went glue on.

Cutthroats and VPA's spin on so perfectly because they are CNC'd to incredibly accurate tolerances from a single piece of steel. You'll never experience that with multi-piece laminated or brazed-on blades/ferrules.

They are great heads and super tough.

I have a set of screw in 250 grn and really liking them so far.   Still a toss up as to whether the Cutthroats or Abowyer Brown Bears go with me to Colorado this year.

I would like to see them offer a 200 gr glue on with a true 3:1.

I know, I'm being ultra picky about a great head as it is, but I shoot lower weight and like to have every possible advantage.

David, what is the length and width of the 190?

Maybe what I want is already available.

Danny told me that the only difference was the milled out slot underside of blade. Same detention as 160 just weight
