Hey all
Could someone give me a lead on replacement foam for bowquivers? I know some of the mail order places sell replacements for the quivers they sell--precut and mucho dinero--I am looking for some bulk foam/foam rubber to cut my own. I use an old modified Bear leather top quiver and my 15 yr old foam rubber is rotting out!
Drop me a pm if you want...I'd like to pick up a piece big enough for 4 or so hood foams.
Thanks!
Ryan
Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc. Any hobby shop and buy the foam they use for flower arrangements and cut it to fit. Cheap fix. Works great.
Ryan, can you call me when you get a few minutes? I was driving when I wrote your number down last time. Can't find it. I've found the perfect place for you and Dad! CK-361-648-6059MBL
I bought my last chunk at a store that deals with Kayaks. They use the foam for leg thwarts inside their little boats. Worked pretty good but wont last 15 years. Let me know where this foam/rubber is when you find some. sounds more durable for sure.
Harbor Freight sells the 24x24 in. grey foam floor mats for your work shop, they are only a 1/2 in. thick but I cut the foam out to fit in tight layers, then take a old broadhead(same as youll hunt with) and heat it to almost red hot and stick in the foam where youll want them, it will fuse the layers together and heads fit perfect. This is the best foam Ive found yet and for 8-10 bucks you get 8 24x24 in. by 1/2 in thick pieces, enough to do a bunch of quivers..
Randy said it any canoe kayak shop sells pieces for padding in kayaks/canoes.
Check with a computer shop - or the IT guys at work. The foam that Dell uses to pack compters and servers will work great and is free. We just got a couple servers in and they are packed with black foam vs white. BTW - this is the plastic sort of stuff, not styrofoam.
great now bowhunters all over North America are going to go dumpster diving behind office buildings, Best Buys and Circuit City stores looking for the elusive free black foam from Dell.

Gardener knee pads (14" X 12") from Home Depot. For 5 bucks, you could make 4-5...and its good closed cell foam too.
Noodle foam (the foam noodles the kids use in the pool). It doesnt' last a long time, but 1 noodle will get you a BUNCH of quiver inserts...and you can pick the color :)
What Blackhawk said or the one from 3Rivers. Them and a sharp knife and contact cement and your are good.. Just make sure it is closed cell foam or they will rust your broadheads.
Ryan, Bob York in Pa. sells replacement foam for the leather tops. If you're interested in going that route, let me know and I'll get you some contact info. Grant Young
Earl E.,
Your knee pad idea worked out great and thanks again for the idea. :bigsmyl:
Wonder if anyone ever tride the spray foam in a can?
Is it too brittle and would it apply oo much pressure during install?
I've seen guys use it for 3-d patches
If you got a foam pad from a treestand seat, use it
Thanks for the ideas!
