Anyone live around there? I am starting a job there next month and am in need of info about commuting. How is the drive from Three Forks? Are there any reasonable areas that I can find a rental? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe we could get together and go shoot bows sometime.
Thanks
Chris
Chris...Three Forks, Manhattan, Belgrade, and Livingston are all better bets for finding cheaper rentals. One of the trade-offs for working/living in the Bozeman area is the price of housing.....it's expensive here.
I live in Livingston, and it's about a 25 mile commute to Bozeman, over the pass, but well worth it in my book.
Thanks Mark, I heard the pass can be bad in the winter and the winds don't sound to good either. I am starting to look west of Bozeman. Thanks for the info hope to see you around. Are there any good trad 3D shoots or good shoots in general?

3 places that I would love to live. Check Livingston out. Like he said living there is certainly worth the commute.
Is there many trad shooters around there?
I don't know about that but it's a great location. A great town.
Montana is home to many great trad shooters. Bozeman certainly has a number of them. Livingston has a few as well.
Windy, schwindy! Keeps the Californians from getting too thick over here...something Bozeman seems to be needing! It's all how you look at it. Wind dries up the mud faster here in the spring!
There are a couple good trad shoots in the state. We have two of the best state organizations in the country, and plenty of other "shoots" if that is what you like. You will probably have to drive some to get to any of them, but driving (even over passes in the winter) is a way of life here in MT. Hunting and fishing here is top-notch, though, and worth the sacrifices.
Thanks Mark, maybe Trump should build a wall around California, I am trying to run from them over here also.
Do they have gumbo mud in the Bozeman area. I ran into that stuff up on the breaks last September.
Just depends where you are. Gallatin valley actually has some "soil" in it, unlike where I am at. Most of the gumbo/clay stuff is in veins and I usually run into it in the hills more....I wouldn't say it's prevalent there - not at all like the Breaks.
