Title: Zwickey Snaro
Post by: Pine on June 29, 2016, 02:11:00 PM
Have any of you ever tried them ?
I've been thinking about them because we have a problem with chipmunks and I'm just not good enough to hit those little things in the head every shot .
Figured seeings I miss By about an inch , those snaros might just work . But I'm not sure if the wire loops would smack them hard enough .
I don't want to use traps because we've cought birds in them and they are not guilty of any damage .

I'm a firm believer in not shooting innocent animals , I only shoot the ones that look guilty .
Thanks for your input . Graps

I shoot AT doves with them.  not so successful.  I think the wire loop would not kill a chipmunk as they are for ensnaring wings......just my thought

I was just looking at Zwickeys condore , that might work better .
I've found some bad reviews on the snaros .

I haven't found my snaro head to be very useful for anything.  It's hard to carry around as it doesn't at all fit well into any quiver (I put mine nock first/upside down into a bow quiver).

I think the "theory" on them is a lot better than the "practice."

My wife and I used to do a lot of roving, using Judos.  Unknown to her, I glued on a couple of Condors.  Next trip out, I was mowing down the weeds, dandelions, pine cones, etc.  Since she normally outshot me, this was rubbing her the wrong way.  I was trying to beat her to the arrows so she couldn't see what was going on.  When she finally saw one, she grabbed my arrow, examined it, and what she said to me then peeled the feathers off two of my arrows.

I killed a flying Chuckar partridge with one. Hit it in the back flying straight away.

Talking about the Kondor

I think that The springy steel wire is not stiff

for anything expect very small birds .

They've been around for quite awhile. But, for the life of me, I've never been able to figure out how they're capable of killing anything.

Condor would be a better choice for chipmunks and gophers.  About an inch more diameter than judos.  That's all you need, right?   :bigsmyl:

While the animal is having a laugh your dog can sneak up and nab them!

I think I'm going to give the Condor a try . It looks like it might just grab a chipmunk and ancor it down .

Go with the Condor.  I've been using the same couple for years now.  The little "extra" definitely helps.  I've not broken or bent one wire and I typically shoot 60# +.

They shred starlings......
