Title: bear limbs
Post by: Jeff Kruse on June 16, 2016, 09:17:00 PM
Does anybody know  who is building bear limbs. I have a set from rose oak, but he no longer is building any.

Kirk at Bigfoot bows. Check out the thread about "who loves and shoots Bear Takedowns". RER changed owners, don not know if new owners are making limbs? I know there is at least another I think Schaffer bows?

Kevin stopped making them a year or two before he sold RER to the new owners. When he was building them he only made #2 limbs with his static tip design. Brandon is done with bows and limbs, time will tell if he gets to make a few here and there but sounds like anything he does build will be sold on his website as stock. No more special orders. I'm fortunate to have three sets of Brandon's llimbs and a set of Kevin's. The new Bear limbs hold there own with the aftermarket limbs IMHO. The only problem is the last few new sets I've bought seem to run an inch over AMO on string length. If I lay them next to a set that's a couple of years older they're longer..need a string for a 61" bow on a B handle with #1 limbs. Found the same thing with the newer #3 limbs.

The new Bear TD limbs are superb but if you just have to have something different contact Kirk at Bigfoot  bows.

I liked the rose oak, because they don't stack as much as the bear limbs. I also got them for a 64 inch, which helped a lot.

I have a couple of pairs of Brandons limbs, and they're really nice and smooth. Fit and finish is excellent. But, I recently purchased a pair of Bear limbs, and was surprised how nice they were. I would not hesitate to buy to buy them again.
