Has anyone used truck bed spray liner there sticks on even flex seal? Just thinking of other ways to do it plus it could also protect the metal. I would like hear your methods of making them quiet.
Ralph Ciancurillo. Sprayed expanding foam insulation on th inside to quiet them from pinging and ponging.

Bed liner works. But there is a very inexpensive product called "Stealth Strips" designed just for that purpose. It works very very well.
Wrap them in hockey Tape. I wrap all mine and all my stands. I have been able to set up in trees and see deer bedded down around me not even knowing I was there.
Also- I never touch mine together. Cardinal rule for me: Metal never touches metal. I have mine set-up on foam blocks. Plenty of prior posts and Jason of Traditional Bowhunter and Winderness Podcast explains it all.

I had so hockey tape didn't work because I couldn't wrap like it should be.
I may try and wrap it where they touch each other with paracord and see how that works.
I think Plastic Dip spray on would work fine.Flex seal is probably a rip off of it to sale on infomercials.You can also use brush on plastic dip.Available at hardware stored etc.Its the same stuff you see on the end of wrenches etc. with the plastic coating.I use it on steel chains that are on my hang on stands.Works great!
I would probably not put it on the step portion that your foot will be on when ascending.You don't want that to be slippery at all!You can put an adhesive backed material their that has a slip proof surface if your sticks don't already have one on then.
Wrapping your climbing sticks up tightly with bungie cords will virtually eliminate any noise when transporting.Make it rock solid.Then bungie that to your treestand for a nice unit to pack on your back.You just have to be careful when unpacking them to set up to avoid noise.But adding a coating of surface insulator will be more full proof than bare metal.
The sprayed foam insulator is a good recommendation for the hollow tubing.No echo chamber.
To be fool proof and anal about it as many of us are.I would coat the outside.Use the foam insulator inside and get bungie cords of the appropriate length and bundle it all up tightly.
You can buy packs of bungie cords of varying lengths that will serve you well with all your climbing stick and tree stands needs for quiet transport.

I can cover a Lone Wolf Alpha assault 2 in 4 hours with 3-4 rolls. I used camo hokey tape on my sticks. All the exposed metal minus the steps and the bracket that secures the step to the tree. They way good hockey tape works makes it a fabric covering that makes everything silent. I use it on everything. Even my plastic pee bottle to silence the plastic from making noise in cold temps. It makes everything easier to grip and it's nice on the platform of the stand. The exposed metal from a stand will conduct cold in the winter thus making your feet colder. I learned this method from hunting in Alberta in minus 20-30f temps. Sound travels for miles up there due to the cold weather. One metallic sound in the bush and your hunt is over. A hunter defeats his own purpose of the hunt if he cannot hunt undetected. Hunting with exposed metal on a stand is a big detail that gets overlooked in my opinion.

The x-mantis sticks are to Close together to wrap the way it needs to be. I try to wrap it length ways and it wouldn't stick.

Just cut the tape.. They would tape up fine. Look at my stand. I didn't use the roll to go between the grate on the platform. It just takes longer but works fine.
Sounds like you need better tape. Good hockey tape sticks to anything like glue.

Yeah why not use stealth strips. Pre cut and work great

The stealth strip would be to costly I would to use 2 strips per stick maybe more.
Here's what I ended up doing. I bought some under carriage rubberized paint from an auto store. I taped up the teeth part of the foot pegs and put 2 coats of the rubber paint on one of them to test out, then I had some left over camo paint in tan and green and camo'd it. Looks good. I'll see if I can get picks up later of before and aftr.

Hockey tape for me too,, stuff can't be beat.
I use the best quality hockey tape I can buy,,,, I also wrap my flashlights, deer calls, man I have hockey tape on everything... heres a pic of my loc-on with Jim-Stepp system all taped up and ready to go (daughter picked out the skull and bones)

I could use the self stick felt. Do you think it will hold up in wet conditions? Because I hunt on private land, leaving them on the tree for a couple of weeks or more won't be a problem. Just wondering if the stick through those conditions.
I used the skull and crossbones on all my hockey sticks. Never tried it on a stand, but I will now!
