Okay guys, Just 4 days Until our June 18th Traditional archery shoot at Mid Penn Sportsman's Club in Kratzerrville Pennsylvania!...!!! Last year was a raving success, so this year we've added a few new moving parts! MAINLY, the IRON BEAR course...!!! What is that you ask? It is a one arrow Ironman course, Consisting of eight foam bears In very precarious shooting positions...!!!
We set the course today and its VERY cool..!
When you let loose of your arrow at each bear, one of 4 things will happen:
1)You will hit the 3-D bear and get the appropriate point value.
2)You will miss the bear, but find your arrow within the
60 second time frame, And move on to the next Target..
3)You will lose your arrow and not recover it within the 60 second time frame, in which case you're round will be over...
4)You break your arrow and you're round ends there as well!
Sound easy..??? Some will claim its harder than chinese arithmetic...??? The proof is in the pudding..! Come find out this weekend At our traditional archery fest, and shoot another 30 other 3D's plus novelties and have some great fun in the meantime...... !!!
Shoot starts at 7:30 am...this Saturday, June 18th
Where??: Mid Penn sportsmen club...Kratzerville, Pa
Located 10 minutes outside of Selinsgrove on rte 204.....center of Kratzerville...watch for the signs.! 1 hour norrth of Harrisburg.
Better yet, Look on Pow wow for 2nd Annual Mid Penn shoot thread. It is also listed under events. Check it out, and come see us on Saturday! Cost you a whopping $10....Jackdaw, monkeyball, mahantango and crew....don't miss it..!
.
Ooooh boy is that going to be awsome! Hey John i hope you made it really easy lol and do i get a handicap for having a bum shoulder?
I cant wait, this will be a great shoot!
I will be there. Now, which bow do I bring?? Hmmm.
Gary...Your handicap is allowing you to shoot those super Woody's....!!!!! Keith, bring that Samick With the five extra coats of Tru oil on it.......:-D
Glad you got a jump on things guys! Looks like I might make it tomorrow morning.
are there other courses set up (kids) or only the bear course?
Just the regular and iron bear course. If you think about it any course is a kids course, you just move them up closer.
Yewbender is correct. We have a 30-shot course setup for general shooting, with an emphasis on the shots.....! There is a stake where We think it is the most fun and challenging to shoot from. But you might actually shoot from anywhere you please On the thirty shot course as long as it's a safe shot. We fully expect children to move into 10 yards or less if that's What they feel comfortable with and their parents. The Iron Bear course Is for those Hardy folks who want the challenge...and the fun. You may shoot the 30 shot course as often as you please, any part of it.! The Iron Bear is once through for score. If you choose to shoot it again for fun, certainly your prerogative to do so. You don't have to do it at all as a matter of fact, it's just included in your entry fee. It is not an enormous Club, but we do do our best To make sure it is at least challenging for those who want challenge. But we love to see all skill levels show up, from the novice to the experienced archer. ....:-D. ...fun at all costs....:-D

Guys, you are going to enjoy the Iron Bear course. It will test your skill but it will be possible to put an arrow into every Bears vitals. We have come up with the following rules:
1. You will need two arrows, you will carry one, the scorekeeper the other. This is in case you hit the target and perhaps another shooter drills your arrow and destroys it. You will get the second arrow to stay in the shoot.
2. Being a shoot that is leaning towards" skill" we will not be rewarding points for a "non-vital hit. Another words......shoot to kill.
3.Vital hits will be given points only, and we are going with an 8 and a 10
4.If you miss the target, after your group is done shooting you will have exactly 1 minute to recover your arrow. After that you are finished.
5.To win you must finish the shoot with your arrow in shootable condition and be the high score. In case of a tie we will have a shot figured out.
No problem John, my woodies float!
Wish I wasn't so far away.
All good......perhaps someday..:-D
Sounds like a great time!
