I-I-I-I can't believe it. I have been putting in for sixteen years. That's right, I drew an archery San Juan Elk Ridge bull elk tag. I have been down there a lot hunting deer but it was twenty years ago. It is a premium limited entry hunt. I had a friend go down there about 5 years ago with a tag. He had a blast and saw a lot of elk. This should be interesting. I will be taking a few pictures and will post about the hunt. YAAAAAAAHHHOOOOO!!!!!
Congratulations, hoping you have a great hunt! :archer:
Have fun and be safe. :archer2:
Arguably one of the best elk tags out there. Congrats on the draw!! Don't be like some and let the pressure of having a great tag get to you! Enjoy! And good luck!

Very cool. We need pictures.
lots of pictures please !!!
Congrats! What a tag!
Good Luck and have a great hunt. The Elk on the ground is just a bonus.
I drove into 76 several years back in the middle of the day, I saw bulls from the road and could hear them screaming. Give me a call if you want and I'll tell you where I was. Ran into a resident that was hunting in there that seemed to have done a lot of research and had focused on that spot. I'll be able to draw it when I become a resident next year.
Congrats on your Tag! Have a great Time and I look forward to your pictures and stories.
I went scouting a couple of weeks ago. I figured you guys would like to see a few pictures.

This is a picture of the trail I was riding my bike on. Yes it was legal to ride it on the trail. There are a lot of trails in the Abajo Mountains that are open to motorcycles and four wheelers. They do not have a lot of traffic so the impact is small.
Here is a nice meadow I found.

There's plenty for them to eat.

A nice four wheeler road. There were a few broken parts on this trail.

I'm leaving this thurs. to hunt. I will try to get some better pictures. These were taken with a broken cell phone camera. They turned out better than I expected.
Good luck! That is a great tag and should make for some lifetime memories!
