which of these gloves would you guys recommend? I wear a medium with my other gloves will the size be the same as those you think?
I've found the sizing to run true. Any of the crossovers are great gloves.
I have a Big Shot Crossover and it's the best glove I've ever had .
I like the standard bigshot. You can send American Leathers a trace of your hand and they will get you in the correct size. Don't think when you get it and its tight that it's to small. They will loosen up after a little bit of using them. If you buy, one,to big it'll stretch a little and it will be loose.
Kangaroo crossover. send him a tracing of your hand and he will send you the size you need.
Send them your tracing. I got one a couple weeks ago and it is a fine glove for sure.
I love my big shot. One of the best archery investments I've made.
I'd say they run pretty close to true, maybe just a little on the small side... and x3 on sending a tracing.
Like others have said send John Turner a hand tracing. He will hook you up with the proper sizing. The best part is he will file your tracing for future orders. I have very narrow fingers. So they stitch my finger stalls a little tighter. Best gloves I have ever used !!!
I have the Bison leather " crossover ", best glove I've owned!
I love my kangaroo crossover. Tough, comfortable, non stretch, virtually no break in. You should talk to him about the advantages of 'roo
I have the full shot and I really like it!
I really like mine. I shoot the Kangaroo, and it is a great performer.
I can't imagine a better glove. I have John make mine with medium size width and XL length on the stalls. I have 2 of them and am thinking of getting a 3rd just in case there's a civil war here and Kangaroo leather gets hard to come by.
Oops.
Kangaroo all the way. Like Archie said they are great performers and will last a very long time>
Nice gloves. I have a different glove in kangaroo leather, and love it.
Based on my experience, the only sure way to get the size you want is to try them on.
I sent in a trace of my hand. One finger was way too big. Sent it back with a new trace. Same finger was way too small. I wound up giving it away.
Trying them on at an event, the sizes could vary a lot. With some a large was too big, others an XL was too small.
Not a knock on AL. Leather is an inconsistent medium to work with. Different sewers will vary a bit. And I'm very picky about how my glove fits.
I bought another, but only after I could try it on first.
I have 4 I think....maybe
Two or three elk and two buffs.
Best I've ever used!!!
I sent a hand trace to the previous owner and he put me in a large. I shot that glove for a few seasons. Went to a Damascus and a Neat after that both were mediums. I then went back to my Bigshot. Then ordered a new Bigshot in medium from 3 rivers made by the current owner and it fits way better than the large. You can do the hand trace thing but I think people tend,to,run the side of the peril or pen along there hand and actually make the hand look bigger than it is you would be fine with getting a medium. JMO.
Best I've ever used!!!
X2!! I love my American leather glove and I will be buying a kangaroo leather glove in the future.
Dave.
My best glove for sure. I wear large gloves, but sent a tracing in and they sent a large crossover.
After a few years it has stretched a little bit but no problem with the fit. I strap it a little tighter around the wrist and it still works fine.
If you don't want to send a tracing for some reason, if I were you I'd order a medium and try it for fit.
+1 really like the krossover.
TTT
great bunch - they sent me more than one b/c I was in between and simply asked me to return the one that didn't fit. seemed really interested in making customer happy. have been shooting mine a while now and will get another if it ever wears out. as for which one - I can't comment - have only owned the one and therefore can't say one is better than the other

I recently spoke to John about a sizing problem I had with his gloves. Seems I am a "tween er". I need the size large fingers on an x-large glove. The large glove does not fit around my wrist and is always popping loose. The xl fingers are to big for my skinny fingers. John says no problem. Had his seamstress stitch the fingers on an extra large glove down to a size large. That is called customer service. Works great. Don't hesitate to call John with any questions/concerns you might have. :clapper:

My experience is the same as yours. FWIW, I got mine in February and it's just now feeling like "mine". Some break-in time but a very nice glove.

They are truly a custom shop. I've got large finger stalls, XL length and XXL wrist strap. John is great to work with.
