 My new bow came today.....more to come!
I was going to put this on the Hill Post but I thought more folks would see it here. My reverse handle ASL longbow came today......backset, 66", 42# @ 29", Osage riser, bamboo cores and plain brown glass with Osage tips. After some shooting and a few minor tuning tweeks I started to get serious shooting this bow. It is smooth right past 29" and quick for only 42#. My first 3 shots were in the 8 ring of my 3-D tatget from 25 yards...... ......that's a good sign.....lol.

Thanks Ken...... :notworthy: As the photos show, really nothing fancy, but the fit and finish is very good. I have shot cedars and 2016 Alum. from it so far and it's not to fussy. I have to try my carbons shortly to see how they fly. So far this bow and I seem to get along just fine. More to come...........
That's cool Ron.
Does it have a shelf on both sides? As a lefty, I like anything that's universal!
Will you hunt with that this fall?
Yep, dual shelf.......the way it shoots I may have to hunt it this fall.........lol!
Very nice!
very nice Ron
Yep, real nice!
Ron,I had a feeling you were going to really like that bow from the start as I did with mine
Now that's a classy longbow! Enjoy it.
I like it. Odd, not too long ago, I had no interest in a forward handle bow. That is, until I shot one. I was impressed with how it shot, and now am kicking around a costly idea...
I have several reverse handle bows, I like the feel. Took it out after supper to try some carbons.....45/60 CE, they also flew very well. So I can get cedars, 2016's and carbons to shoot from this bow, right or left handed......I'm impressed.
Nice! I really love the overlays, very classic look.

Very nice, Ron!
never thought I would like a reverse handle bow but man does this bow fit my hand PERFECT and what a good looking bow to boot!
Brian......you take better pictures than me.....lol, Thanks
Looks awesome!
Nice bow..!!!! ASL is an acronym for what..??? American straight longbow..???.. also...do you shoot ambi..??? Dual shelf..
I have been shooting right hand/left eye dominate since 1967. I decided to try to shoot lefty just to see if I could do it.....I can, not well yet but it's coming along. It also balances my back muscles for better fitness. And the best part.....it's fun!
Ron, That's a beautiful bow, second time I've seen it in pictures.
Thanks to all, I saw you liked it on face-book Lee!
Ron....
I have been thinking lately that my next ASL will be a reverse/forward handle....
Is there really a big diff In the way they shoot compared to a standard bow...
And are specs. are pretty much the same, I like them around 45 & 29"
And I like the dual shelf our No shelf for the same reason as you..
My McBroom reverse handle seems to resist torque a bit better. It's as fast as my other bows, I shoot 8-11gpp. I have a 2 peice version. Mine has become my main bow, it's beautiful, quiet and smooth. I don't notice any hand shock either. You wouldn't be disappointed. My girlfriend has the first one Brian McBroom made. Soon as she shot it, she made me give him a check right then and there.
Mike G, I like my Hills and Northern Mists also. The reverse handle just seems to fit my style of shooting.......if I even have a style.....lol!
That brown glass is plain but elegant! Enjoy

McBroom can make them fancy.
Those are BEAUTIFUL bows guys. AZ, that bow looks amazing. I wish y'all would quit with all the pics....I do not need another bow, I do not need another bow, I do not need another bow lol.
I'm gonna have to give Brian a call after I feather back out from the St Jude Auction. I swore I wouldn't buy a bow this year...but y'all are really twisting my arm. And there isn't an ASL on my bowrack.
you shooting this bow tomorrow ?
Maybe.........Can't decide which one to shoot but I shot this one yesterday and I done good.
Very nice, Ron. My bow aquisitions have come to a halt, but if I start up again, I'd like to get one similar to yours.
Took the new bow to a 3-D today.......lots of good comments and I shot it pretty good. Several said, wow that is really quiet......it is!
Nice bow Ron.
Oh boy! Nice bow there. How many bows you got now ron w?? I am addicted too  ;)
Somewhere just over 40 Jack......I try to cut back now and then but it just don't seem to happen.
So, I have had this bow now for a few weeks, been shooting, tuning and just getting friendly with it. Been to a 3-D and just learning how to handle this unique bow. Well it's easy, put the heal of your hand into it and just shoot, smooth, silent and very forgiving. Just a pleasure to fling arrows down range......I need to take it stumping now. :archer2:
Great idea that bow!
Congrats,
F-Manny
